A Flame of Fire

Revelation 1:14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow,

and His eyes like a flame of fire.

The word ‘fire’ appears twenty-five times in the book of Revelation, as there is a whole lotta burning going on.

Only three times this word is modified by ‘a flame’, and only to describe the Master’s eyes.

They are not the red hot mixture of gasses erupting from a burning pyre, they are the pure and clear

flame of swirling air above the fire, and for those who have been trained by it, the source of all comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble,

with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Servants of the Lord are not ministers of fiery judgment, they receive the Lord’s Comforter,

and deliver comfort to others. 

Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels He says: Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.

This comes in the form of loving correction that may not seem pleasant, but painful,

while enabling us to use the same meek touch in offering correction.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual,

restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

A Flame of Fire will come from the Lord in Judgment 

2 Thessalonians 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus

shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God,

and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fire, or a Great Flame of Heat?

Daniel 3:22 Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot,

the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.

23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound

into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood,

Here is the loving correction of an angel here

Acts 12:21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

Acts 12:22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

Acts 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

That always reminded me a little of angel " In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God" seeing the angel of the LORD appeared to Moses in a flame of fire out of the midst that bush

But that Angel in Acts killed this guy over gullible people attributing his voice as the voice of a god without his returning to give God the glory.

That sort of thing? Not sure where we are going here but if I can help I will.

Just as one come to Elijah when his journey was too great, the same come to Jesus

Mark 1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts;

and the angels ministered unto him.
