All the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed seem to have had them done as witness tools that would likely prove effective in conversations. It's hard to believe that these people all (or mostly) think that God is leading them to get tattooed. Lev. 19:28 (ESV) You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord. Now, we are not under law, in the New Covenant, so we are not under this legal prohibition; however, it is an indication that God not only does not approve of tattoos, but that they are associated with other worldly practices. I would encourage anyone thinking of getting a tattoo to seek God about it. It's important to seek God's will about all important decisions. You've posted it here at Worthy at least 3-4 times and across the internet on other forums alot. Yeah, I googled it along with your name. The problem? No, it's not that you spam this quote. That's your business. It's that the quote is not true.

One girl said she was so thankful .. realizing she could relate the tattoo to her life..I had that tattoo planned out for nearly a year (11months) .. Maybe next year when I go back (these trips are going to be regular every 4 or so months trips) I will get another... Maybe ..One guy decided last minute but everyone literally spent hours on their phone that day looking up verses and verse tattoos ..They are meaningful to them kmrichard7 christianforums dot com I know that the strategy for some ppl is variously to deny it happens, but then when this does not really work, to fight it. Well, fine. My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area. She said it was her favorite Bible verse. I'm not denying that young Christians are getting tattoos (I'll take your word for it); but, I wonder why they are getting tattoos. Is it because the Lord is leading them to? I very much doubt it. Why would the Lord ban tattoos in the law of Moses, if he really wants his people to get them? As I've said, we're no longer under the law of Moses, so they are not forbidden as such; but, I suspect that this fad is connected with worldliness and spiritual decline, just as worldly methods of evangelism are. As such it has come full circle from the 19th century when it was regarded as a rather classy, lady-like thing to receive. FYI: Quote ..one of the major resurgences of interest in tattoos in Europe occurred among 19th century high society Victorian women (as well as men), after British explorers .. brought back the practice to Britain. .. grew during the 19th century, and even Winston Churchill’s mother had a tattoo .. on her wrist. Queen Victoria was also believed to have had a tattoo of a Bengal tiger.. . Quote From Victorian Europe...to America. In 1897, (art critic, Margot) Miffin says that an estimated 75% of American society women were tattooed.. I have no problems with tattoos and I am not denying that it happens. I'm just denying the blanket statement from whomever you quoted on another forum that you can't find a woman under 40 in the church who isn't tattooed.
