NASB Confession that Jesus is Lord and if he is your Lord it follows you must do as he says: What did he tell us to do: Matt 22:37-40 "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 "This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." NASB If you read the Matthew 25 verses in the last post you will see what happens to people who do not do his second command.... and note that those going to hell really are not noted as breaking any of the ten commandments. I disagree, if I am reading your comment right. I think this was Keller’s point—we who are Christians WILL sin. We don’t want to, as Paul said, but we do it anyway. Who can then save us? Jesus! The point is that He ALREADY did save us- we cannot be saved again, it was a once for all kind of deal. Justice demands that God forgive us! It seems kind of obvious that the people in the scripture I posted thought the same as you are saying..... and Jesus never knew them. It's not that people don't occasionally fall short, but when you think you are saved anyway it's really easy to get to the position of what I posted. And my words say to be careful for when you don't understand we have to follow Jesus's demands to be saved you end up where these people in the scriptures I posted end up..... Hell.
