The Bald Headed Eagle currently is sitting on two eggs! In the snow! Both the female and the male Eagle take turns sitting on the nest, and bringing food. Last year one egg hatched and we saw the Eaglet grow up and eventually fly away. That previous Eaglet was named Spirit by school children. The top live cam is the nest camera. She is currently on the nest. https://www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org/ 2

Plus the past few days, it's been windy. The Eagles feathers are blowing around! I hope they help insulate the Eagles from the cold. 1

Yes, in the overnight hours, mom Eagle is sleeping on the nest. With the last eaglet, we even saw mom and dad eagles feeding the baby and sometimes fussing with each other over the nest. We watched regularly as the eaglet grew up and eventually flew away for it's own territory. There is also a blog written on the website with all sorts of things about the eagles. 2

I do remember seeing the eaglets last year. Thanks for reminding us of this website.

Because the nest is illuminated at night. The bottom camera shows the mountain scenery only and it is dark at night.
