Speaking of flying does one take off with low fuel at Solvang Ca. because at that elevation the private airplane is overloaded compared to having started out at Long Beach at close to sea level? Probably not twice, as even Guardian angels have their limits. Mine have lots of mileage on them. ( BTW The flying club was really ticked when we coasted on in on fumes - And no I wasn't the "pilot" just the idiot on board with his family, looking at two fuel gauges reading empty going down the California coastline). Seems Jackie set a record of 62 hours nonstop on the nest. She would not let Shadow take over during the storm, dispite, as the writer puts it, his many protests. Many years ago it was an actual natural river but it caused a lot of floods. So they encased it in concrete. Normally it is dry. Nowadays there are a few areas being restored to a natural wetland. People even canoe there to see ducks and a few other wildlife. Is it a tree ? NO its a.......
