Looks like the experts no longer expect the eggs to hatch again this year

Some interesting facts I uncovered reading all the info on them

Shadow is NOT jackies first mate ... shadow chased him off and became her mate

Jackie is two years older than shadow

They were both hatched by the same pair so brother and sister from batches two years apart

Their parents left the area unexpectedly after raising several broods there

What a bummer if no eggs hatch...such is life.

I wonder if them being brother and sister could have an effect on the eggs not hatching?

They appear to be changing places faster than they  normally do wonder if they are giving up on the eggs ?

Is there still time for a second clutch ?

Do they clear the eggs from the nest if Jackie lays more ?

hmmmmmmm

Poor jackie looks exhausted. It is past midday and she is still on the nest and no food delivery She keeps lifting her head to look around but falls asleep till her beak hits the snow . So sad that all this work and they wont have a chick to raise

Poor Jackie .. Shadow whacked her on the back with a spiky branch this morning .. she left the nest in a huff without any of the normal chatter and now is sitting looking very forlorn on a branch of a tree not far from the nest staring into a whiteout . With how in tune they are do you think they KNOW the eggs wont hatch now ?

Snow flurries currently with Jackie on the nest.

Too bad we apparently won't be seeing even one egg hatch.   Of course, miracles do happen.

I love the way Shadow complains that 2 hours is not enough and its still his turn whilst Jackie pushes him off her nest LOL  I dont know why they quarrel about who gets to be covered in that evil white stuff :scream:

Well personally I think they very likely have ability to sense/feel life and motion within the eggs and that it is the humans that do not know what's up.
