It is past midday and she is still on the nest and no food delivery She keeps lifting her head to look around but falls asleep till her beak hits the snow . Shadow whacked her on the back with a spiky branch this morning .. she left the nest in a huff without any of the normal chatter and now is sitting looking very forlorn on a branch of a tree not far from the nest staring into a whiteout .
