Might be careful when you try to (continually) convince everyone about what (you believe) is good and what is bad, then instead use the term effective. Effective for what purpose? Your personal purpose/idea of "Tattooing for Jesus", the new witness tool to look like the lost to reach them. Cool.  I guess I'm just old.

Hi farouk

The Lord God does not want us to practice the same customs as the heathen, but to stay separate from their traditions.

Leviticus 19:28   Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

@Sower As a 'first love' expression (to use your term in this context) it's not unusual for those who have been recently converted to think that it can be an effective way of expressing what they now hold dear.

This is exactly what @Heleadethme said about her son:

"He is 43 and is finally as of just this past year, serving the Lord now....  He lives on the other side of the country and already has tattoos, and when he came to faith recently, unbeknownst to me he almost immediately went out and got the letters Yahweh or Jeshua (forget which) tattooed on his fingers. "

Awww, reminds me of when my own son showed me his first tattoo and said " Look ma,I figured you can't get mad with this tat".... A Cross

I had to smile,he understood I was not going to be pleased or give him permission at his age(16 I think?) So he went ahead without my permission

@kwikphilly Maybe it was a 'first love' thing (as @Sower said of tattoos received by young believers) for your son...

Hmmm...interesting that is the same rite of passage as pagans.   If you don't like the term "good or bad", how about the term "God's will"?  Isn't that what we should seek and do according to?  I wonder how many would testify truthfully they were led by the Spirit to go get a tattoo.
