This morning in my "quiet time" (not always so quiet . . .) I considered what are the main facts that I should live by in this Christian life.  I came up with five facts that I can, so to speak, "take to the bank."  Here they are:

1. He loves us beyond measure!

2. He died to set us free!

3. He now lives in us!

4. My job is simply learning to let Him live and operate in and through me!

5. He will return soon in bodily form to fully manifest His kingdom on earth - with and through His saints!

Amen to this. I like to focus on a lot of this stuff when speaking to people who believe the Bible has suffered from translation issues and the like over the ages. Even if someone wants to believe that I feel like there's a strong core narrative to be found that's so consistent you can't miss it. Your five facts nail that core narrative IMO.

There is so much to the above that some could write dissertations for months using this simple statement as a starting point. Here are some scriptural truths seeded in that statement:

Walking in the Spirit is there;
Loving the Lord is certainly included;
Loving our neighbor as ourselves is expressed;
Being conformed to the image of the Son of God is implied;
Serving others as Christ serves us is contained therein;

All without the need to delve into any of the above with painstaking detail. An economy of words is pleasing to the Lord! :)

Yes, all true.  That point (#4) is much of what is written about in the epistles - leaning to see who He has really made us, and how to walk in that reality!  Much, much unpacking here, to be sure!

But I like concise summary statements that I can get my noodle of a brain around . . .

On the contrary! That was a humorous nod to the "8 CD set" you referred to in a different topic. The five points you made in the OP are brief, concise, and frugal where words are concerned. Isn't this how the Lord Himself leads and teaches us?

One step at a time,
Precept upon precept,
From glory to glory, conforming us to His image through the Spirit of the Lord.

One lesson at a time.

Pretty sure there's already a certain "dissertation" containing all the relevant information. ;)

A very good source of study and reflection.

5 Main Irrefutable Facts (for me)

Good stuff, Vine Abider.

But that one verse I hid in my heart so long ago keeps coming to mind.

           “If you love Me, keep My commandments
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me" …

Basic and simple.   How/what to do this is also simple; (well, mostly:)

                       Love the Lord
                  Love my Neighbors

On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Amen!  I see this in the learning to let His life operate in and through me.  I know I can't live the Christian life or keep His commandments apart from Him - that is, is Spirit operating in me.  Only one person ever successfully lived the Christian life, Jesus Christ.  And now He's in us to live that life through us!

It's ALL of Him and apart from Him . . . well we know! (but we have to be constantly reminded of this - or at least I do)

                    If I could only remember, (and know it), death is the emancipation, we/I died to sin.

       "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" KJV
("Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?") NLT
Romans 6, 3
