KNOCK!!! = Luke 12;36-38

 

 

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

 

Luke 11:9-10

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

 

Luke 12;36-38

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

 

Revelation 3:19-22

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

To me, that simply means it is up to us to put what God has given to use.

Prayer, God himself, is not like waving Harry Potters magic wand and -Kerpoof!- everything just happens, it is applying God's answers to out prayers in our lives by action to bring them into something real in the world and in our life.

That's how it has been revealed to me, what it means to me, in my life.  Others may have different insights that are equally valid.
