imo back before and while Jesus was on earth many smoked it; the governments had no laws against it and this verse is just saying Jesus will not partake; he was on a mission. Now I don't know for a fact that my opinion is correct but I got that thought from a couple of Sunday school teachers

Marijuana smoking Sunday School teachers would sometimes be thought of as an oxymoron...........

....but I guess it depends on why the marijuana is being ingested.

They smoked before they became Sunday school teachers and realized through experience it is not an hallucinogenic substance as the government portrays it.

Well if those ladies that you know do it wholeheartedly with the clear conscience that's the main thing, right?

I said Sunday school teachers I did not say ladies. And I said they quit smoking it before we had the conversation.

And many are in church that used to smoke it.

People understand that it's for medical and it's not recreational,

@believeinHim Sounds like you would acknowledge the health benefits of medical marijuana in some cases.

I have heard some medicinal forms do not contain the agent that gets people high? I don't use the stuff.

@Anne2 With it legalized now in many places, I think it likely that many Christians will have a variety of views about it; kind of a Romans 14 situation, really.

When people in my state were trying to pass legalizing medical marijuana, the organization behind legalizing it was a george soros group. My first introduction to anything soros did. That told me everything I needed to know about that.

For a supposed medical drug, it is dispensed differenetly in my state. Not by pharmacists, but dispensaries that are run by anyone who got a license. There is no standard for it. The media actually got some from different places and had them tested. Turns out many had mold on it or tested positive for pesticides.

Now they legalized recreational pot. Lucky us. (sarcasm)

My oncologist once recommended cbd oil. I looked it up. Although supposedly thc free, studies showed that different cbd products did contain some small amounts of thc and some folks failed drug tests as a result. Costing them their jobs. Cbd oil also causes liver toxicity.

I suffer tremendous pain on a daily basis. I see no reason to use medical marijuana or cbd oil.

@ayin jade Sorry for your pain.

I think ppl need to be responsible for their own pain management; I don't see that busybodying other people's pain issues - in the manner of some - is the way to go.

MY grandson in law genetically engineers medical cannabis.  He is a paraplegic with spastic paralysis who uses it to enable him to get in and out of bed.  He has a college degree in his field and distributes it to those who are legally licensed to sell it.  The chemicals of the plant that are used for recreational purposes have been eliminated.

I support this sort of use for specific medical purposes.  It has also has been shown to be effective in helping with the affects of chemotherapy.

On the other hand it is not appropriate for a Christian to use or smoke anything to get high or intoxicated.
