Notice in the above verses you quoted Jesus said …. for if the mighty works “had been done”(past tense)in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you.”(present tense)

So Jesus is comparing past cities, peoples, and events to present.

And so when Jesus says…

“But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon “at the judgment,” than for you.”

Yes, the language is important in the Revelation because it is found in other parts of the OT, and by it we are given you more insight into the spiritual imagery found in the Revelation. 

The ships of Tyre are a “similitude” of the ships shown in the Revelation, being the ships of the “merchants” of “the whole earth.”

So both Ancient Babylon and Tyre are “types and shadows”of spiritual things to come on “a global scale.”

There is a good reason why those who have the mark of sin will not “receive”this Testimony about sin being the mark of the beast.  It is because they “cannot receive”the Testimony of the Spirit.

That is the “nature” of the beast.

1 Corinthians 2:10-14

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God “knoweth no man,” but the Spirit of God.
