It is sooo  cold that global warming is a necessity.

The dog needed out at 6:30 AM this morning. I looked at the thermometer. It read 25 f degrees! What? ! Yesterday's high was only 45 degrees.

It was a bit of fun to see the tree leaves blowing around and crunching underfoot yesterday, but 25 degrees now? Nah, that is not quite so much fun in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina this AM. Brrr, more coffee more. Take care all, it's cooold outside.

This "halfback" is rethinking this adventure. Good thing to have not sold out of Florida yet methinks. Point the car South and let it cruise might be the plan. Well it is for next week anyway as I forgot  two doctor appointments. Got to keep them.

Aah the fireplace just kicked in. Warms the heart, seeing the propane heated "logs" and all starting their glow. Kinda pretty but not anything  that inspires getting out the marsh mellow cooking sticks like a real wood fire might.

God has indeed blessed those of us in the USA though. To have such choices of climate to choose from without having to cross borders that require a passport. Pretty cool overall. Thank you LORD, thank you.

See any other wildlife?

No, It is eerily quiet here, just the sound of the cold snapping, and dry leaves crunching underfoot. Little guy the rat terrier is even voting against walks except for his necessary business purposes.

On a sadder note (to me) there was a massive number of  deer fatalities all along I-75 just South of Atlanta. Their territories are evidently being torn up by the ever growing human population expanding  around Atlanta and there seems to be no way for them to get across I -75, nor any barrier fences to keep them off of it.

Though expensive I do think it is human responsibility  to provide ways of safe passage for woods critters other than for them to have to run across the freeways. Those passageways should be an absolute necessity required for any large road construction project.

Amen. I'm still dreaming of a time when I can go further north to get more of the winter freeze experience.

How far north? As one of the  New Hampshire kids of the olden days, we used to literally tunnel our way  from project housing unit to project unit under the snow. We made pop up openings that became our forts to defend  with ice balls made of snow against any intruders from the next project courtyards.

Those were the days of real winters, times when we found the roads by the marker sticks poking up through the ice encrusted snow. Why I remember back when....

I used to live in Maine so the snow tunnel experience is familiar. Going purely from a scenery perspective I'd probably enjoy living there again. South Dakota is also a tempting prospect because of the low cost of living and low population. Michigan is probably the most likely option at this point, though, just on the basis that I know people in that state. There's a lot that I like about my home state of Texas but the summers are a dealbreaker for me.

That is what my Texas bride says about my Florida Suncoast! Seems to me air conditioning is air conditioning no matter which wall the thermostat is placed on.

Now I am cranking on the propane fireplace and battling sinus congestion in the woods where it is beautiful, but brutal for this tenderized former New Englander transplant to SoCal and Fl and now half way back to N. C. where it has a beauty of a very different look and feel. Love the people we meet here!!!

Overall I must say I do like Free Florida's Suncoast. Not so fond of the Atlantic coast side of the State. Still where God leads we will go. If it were just me and it was within God's will I would likely stay in my Florida digs set the AC at 72 and be done with it.
