It is sooo  cold that global warming is a necessity.

The dog needed out at 6:30 AM this morning. I looked at the thermometer. It read 25 f degrees! What? ! Yesterday's high was only 45 degrees.

It was a bit of fun to see the tree leaves blowing around and crunching underfoot yesterday, but 25 degrees now? Nah, that is not quite so much fun in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina this AM. Brrr, more coffee more. Take care all, it's cooold outside.

This "halfback" is rethinking this adventure. Good thing to have not sold out of Florida yet methinks. Point the car South and let it cruise might be the plan. Well it is for next week anyway as I forgot  two doctor appointments. Got to keep them.

Aah the fireplace just kicked in. Warms the heart, seeing the propane heated "logs" and all starting their glow. Kinda pretty but not anything  that inspires getting out the marsh mellow cooking sticks like a real wood fire might.

God has indeed blessed those of us in the USA though. To have such choices of climate to choose from without having to cross borders that require a passport. Pretty cool overall. Thank you LORD, thank you.

Super fun to read your description of how you felt about the drop in temperature.

No, It is eerily quiet here, just the sound of the cold snapping, and dry leaves crunching underfoot. Little guy the rat terrier is even voting against walks except for his necessary business purposes.

On a sadder note (to me) there was a massive number of  deer fatalities all along I-75 just South of Atlanta. Their territories are evidently being torn up by the ever growing human population expanding  around Atlanta and there seems to be no way for them to get across I -75, nor any barrier fences to keep them off of it.

Though expensive I do think it is human responsibility  to provide ways of safe passage for woods critters other than for them to have to run across the freeways. Those passageways should be an absolute necessity required for any large road construction project.

It definitely does make sense to find a way to keep them safe. A mutual benefit, so vehicles have less chance of bumping into them too.

I used to live in Maine so the snow tunnel experience is familiar. Going purely from a scenery perspective I'd probably enjoy living there again. South Dakota is also a tempting prospect because of the low cost of living and low population. Michigan is probably the most likely option at this point, though, just on the basis that I know people in that state. There's a lot that I like about my home state of Texas but the summers are a dealbreaker for me.

Neat to read. I haven't heard many people speaking of moving to Dakota.

After several years, they finally started our huge wildlife crossing... largest in the world.   It goes over 8 freeway lanes plus exit lanes.

Too many mountain lions were getting hit by cars trying to reach the other wilderness area.

Most of the funding is from private donations.

We in Eastern Washington are experiences your temps.  It has been 23 F at night last week but is back up to the low 40s this week with highs close to 60.  A brief reprieve.  Our highs went from the 80s one week, the 60s the next, and then the 40s!  It just dipped down too fast and our bodies couldn't acclimatize. It always amazes me that in the spring we start shedding our jackets when it hits 50 if there is no breeze.  In fall we grab our heavy jackets when it hits 50.

Those drops in temperature happened quickly for sure.

I may have seen one of those polar bears Neighbor this morning wade fishing in the gulf.

Our family yearly reunion every year is at Rockport Texas. We fish a lot as our cabins are on the water, at the Gulf of Mexico.
We got back last week and I had to wear a long sleeve shirt. It dropped way down into the seventies.....default_cool2.gif.0c119a70a4c8754208b8b6551c24727f.gif
