Alot of people who come in the name of Jesus say they are annoited.

I myself was anointed 1998.

I know, I know... I meet a lot of you anointed guys, you can get a football team of anointed guys in the same room and sit back and watch them fight out who is right on scriptures, and watch them all contradict each other, day in and day out and sometimes it can be a little amusing.

Why is mine showing Christ as an adjective?

I totally missed that one, sheesh...

Christ Jesus grammatically is like saying President Biden.

Christ and President are both adjectives modifying personal nouns.

----------------------------------

"I am Christ" in that statement, grammatically the pronoun "I" is the subject.   "Am" is a state of being verb.    "Christ" is a predicate nominative.

Differently, in "I am anointed" as Shilohsfoal claims,  "anointed" is a predicate adjective.

To my shame I think this generation has me beat in the pro nouns department.

Yeah, I always personally understood Christ to be a title, or the anointed one in that way, the Messiah. He was a lot of things, prophet, apostles, shepherd, now high priest. I just concluded them all under titles of Christ.

Having the Holy Spirit yes,  being sent as some might  claim to be no.

So you say you are annoited.Your part of the football team you was talking about. The same  group that never agrees.I suppose that's why you needed to argue over Jesus name.

No, not anointed as some men claim they are (or even pretend they are) to teach and preach. As if "I am God's anointed" how dare you question me" type of thing. The common types you run into on the forums.

You know exactly what I mean but are pretending otherwise.

Besides, I am not anointed to teach or to preach, and where exactly is the argument over Jesus name?

I have said Jesus is his name, when I said, come in the name of Christ I was not implying Christ is his name, but in his name (the name of Christ) who is? Jesus

Well, I am 75 and go back and rely upon what I was taught in my high school English grammar days.

I am pretty much a dumb veteran  who barely graduated with a 5th grade reading average so there's not much for me to go back to.

Although, I don't let that get me down I continue learning.
