“The Fullness of the Nations”

Genesis 48:19but truly his [Manasseh’s] younger brother [Ephraim] shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become the fullness of the nations.

Romans 11:25blindness in part has happened to Israel UNTIL the fullness/plērōma of the nations shall have come in. 26 And AFTER that all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant with them, when I shall take away their sins.

Ephesians 1:7 In Him [Jesus] we have redemption through His blood… 10 UNTO a dispensation of the fullness/plērōma of the times, to head up all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, [even] in him.

Luke 21:24 And they [the Jews] shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be being trodden down by the nations UNTIL the times of the nations be fulfilled/plērōthōsin.

The patriarchal prophecy by Jacob, when he made the sign of the cross with his hands upon the heads of Joseph’s sons Ephraim and Manasseh (Gen. 48:13ff.) – the first instance in the Bible of a laying on of hands – has a much greater significance for our times than most Christians and Jews realize. In part, because Jacob made Joseph “the Nazir/Consecrated One of his brothers” (Gen. 49:26), which consecration passed on through his sons. Christianity, the religion of the cross, was established in Britain by the mid-30’s A.D.

Paul prophesied in Romans 11:25 that when Jacob’s prophecy of “the fullness of the nations” reaches its fulfillment, then, essentially, the End of the Christian Age will come. For God will not begin to restore fallen Israelites to salvation untilAFTER that time. That time being when the Gospel has been preached to “all the nations” of the earth (Matt. 28:19), primarily through the efforts of Anglo-American evangelists.

Matthew 24:24 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and THEN the end will come.

This worldwide evangelism only became possible through the international law-keeping established by the Pax Britannica and the Pax Americana. AFTER this prophesied era of the evangelization of the nations has been fulfilled, Jesus shall return in the clouds of heaven: then “every eye will see Him,” “all the tribes of the earth will wail,” and the Jews will “mourn for Him,” understanding that He is their Messiah “whom they pierced.” Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:30; Zech. 12:10

So we should look around the world, and judge whether or not this part of Joseph’s destiny has been fulfilled, or is near to it. Is not the Anglo-American hegemony and its Christianity increasingly being resisted and replaced by an international hegemony of an anti-American and anti-Christian New World Order? If so, “the times of the nations” is near to its fulness.

The reality that more and more Jews are seeing and accepting Yeshua haMachiach provides evidence that soon Jerusalem will no longer be trodden upon by Gentiles. Furthermore, the presence of believers in the land of Israel if there is any correlation now to the time of the firstfruits, to a remnant there.

Romans 11:4 But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace

It is likely that remnant according to the election of grace exists even now in Israel, or a similar number that is rapidly approaching completion. All worthy of observation for the fullness of time.

THAT is when a whole bunch of them will really believe and receive. ('Cuz "the Jews require a sign...")

I have also noted that by placing Ephraim first, the double blessing was placed ahead of "causing to forget", as we obtain Manasseh. We see this time and again in the history of Israel, and if we are being honest, we all tend to at least get "a little soft" during times of prosperity.

Hosea 13:1 When Ephraim spoke, trembling,
He exalted himself in Israel;
But when he offended through Baal worship, he died.

6 When they had pasture, they were filled;
They were filled and their heart was exalted;
Therefore they forgot Me.

Hence the redundant admonition of the Torah to "remember"=zakar.

Deuteronomy 4:9 Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

There is so much to glean from this topic of memorial and remembrance vs forgetfulness.

James 1:

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was

25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

There are some difficulties for the student of Romans 11 that need to be addressed.

The first one is that Hebrews 11:1 provides an unassailable definition of faith. It reads;

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Why this important is that once an object is SEEN, faith cannot operate. That is, once our Lord Jesus breaks through the clouds over Jerusalem, and is SEEN, the effects of faith cease to operate. But even more than this, scripture says "ALL Israel". That means Jacob, four generations that died in Egypt, all who died in th wilderness .... and you can see where this goes ... all Israelites who ever lived and died in the Good Land and in the diaspora, are meant. They will not change their beliefs from the grave.  Even today, less than half of all living Jews live in Israel and will not be privy to Jesus bursting through the clouds.

This quickly dispenses of any special meaning to "the fullness of the Gentiles" in Romans 11:25. Two reasonable meanings are currently advanced by theologians. (1) It is when the number of Gentiles who, in God's foreknowledge, convert to Christ. This is the most accepted meaning seeing as a Tree with wild branches being added is the immediate context. (2) It is when gentile rule ends with the battle of Armageddon. This is a feasible argument because according to Daniel Chapter 9 the last seven years of this age are marked by Israel cooperating with the Beast. But neither are decisive because Romans 11:25 says that Israel remain hard till THE END and that their "salvation" is not initiated by any acceptance of a Messiah or not. Their restoration is down to God's MERCY ALONE.

Christian theologians seldom admit a crucial fact in all of this. It is this: ALL the prophesies concerning Israel's future tell of a NATIONAL RESTORATION as per the Covenant made with Abraham. Zachariah, father of John Baptist, gives an accurate summary of prophecy of the Messiah's redemption of Israel in Like 1: 67-79. There is no talk of rebirth, partaking of the divine nature, the New Man, eternal life and ruling in Christ's Kingdom. Israel's recovery is marked by the removal of their sins by GRACE ALONE, the arrival of a Messiah who removes ungodliness, return to their Land, safety from their enemies and Temple service to Emmanuel who will dwell in Jerusalem.

In Romans, Paul builds a case for unity among the Gentile Christians and the Jewish Christians By Chapter 5 Paul has concluded all men under curse from Adam. Chapter 6 deals with the solution to put us positionally able to conquers daily sin. But the Jew can claim the Law for dealing with this. So Chapter 7 shows the utter hopelessness of of Law because it only condemns to death. The solution to this Law of sin and death is Chapter 8 - the acceptance of Jesus IN our human spirits to lead, guide and energize us. But all know that Israel have not taken this way. What hope has Israel then?

Paul is faced with a hard task. It is not so much about Israel, but about GOD'S HONOR. God has promised the seed of Abraham Canaan as "an everlasting possession". But 430 years later God also promised Israel that if they broke the Law He would personally see to it that Israel were ejected from their Land. Romans 9, 10 & 11 is a Masterpiece of God's ingenuity. Paul, under inspiration, lays forth God's salvation for an undeserving Nation BASED ON THE WORK OF JESUS. God is able, through what Jesus did, "to have mercy on whom He will". Israel is beneficiary BY COVENANT and BY PROMISES made by the prophets. This does not violate the requirements for a Gentile. And those who refuse Christ are not absolved. But God's whole reputation is bound up with Israel - and the solution is beyond marvel

Very true. Church Age is over at that point; whole new ballgame.

Daniel 9 says NOTHING about the End Times, let alone the Beast; although people try to impose such beliefs into the text. But it just ain't there.

Yes, there are multiple ways of looking at it.
