Has anybody ever looked into what is being taught in some of the movements going on today? The 'name it, claim it' belief isn't the only thing being taught. I believe that all these particular quotes are from K. Copeland, but there are many others.

I believe this is what happens when people start listening to Man rather than sticking strictly to God's Word.

I have felt for a long time that some of these guys have a "god-complex" They now feel their words are equal to scripture. Folks, I don't believe we need a 'fresh word". What we need is to dig deeper into the Word that we have!

Amen, Calamity! This is why we have to weigh absolutely everything we say we believe against Holy Scripture.

It is possible for believers to differ in the way they perceive a verse of scripture but each of us are responsible before God to study His Word and examine everything by the light of scripture.

When someone introduces something that doesn't match up, red flags ought to go flying up saying, "Warning! Error message!"

We should know our bibles enough that we don't buy into every wind of doctrine that floats around.

People can take a verse or two and weave a whole religion around it.

Some of the Kenneth Copeland quotes are very deeply disturbing. Very disturbing! He goes so far as to call the divinity of Jesus into question by claiming to have this prophetic talk with the Lord...where Jesus says He never claimed to be God.

Uh, well..maybe Mr. Copeland needs to read his bible a little more and get up to snuff to what is written about the Lord.

He most certainly is all God.... To imply otherwise is outright heresy. Anyone who denies the divinity of Jesus Christ is in error.

There's lots of things out there that believers can get caught up in. I personally steer clear of teachings by Copeland, or if I do hear things by him my spiritual "filters" are on overdrive for sure.

For example, his comment that :

That's why I'm very careful around VoG. He says God is talking to him, and relaying messages to him, but I don't think that is God. I think that is Satan

trying to trick him into thinking it is God. Remember, when God speaks, you can't hear His voice, but you can hear Him talk to you through your conscience.

When you pray, you know He is talking to you.

Copeland's a nut, plain and simple. He's really gone off the deep-end.......IMHO

KNOW YOUR BIBLE!  I know some might say that's putting God in a box, but I don't believe that to be the case.  God's Word is the absolute truth.

If I had a little more Southern Baptist in me, I yell, 'Preach it!'

I've tried to discuss some of these teachings before, on another board, and what Bill said here:

definitely fits their reaction. I think we need to expose false teachings, as often as we come across them, to hopefully keep others from falling for them. 'Touch not my anointed' doesn't apply, if the 'anointing' is contradicting God's Word. Paul complimented the Bereans for checking the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true. I think that was an example for us to do the same.
