There are some weighty posts in this thread. But Ovedya's comment stands out here. Ovedya, you point out that christians do not seek God even though we desire his gifts and his blessing and his presence in power. (my words as I understand your post). I am firmly convinced that you are correct. I also believe that the christian is the only representative of God on earth, [and in another vein of thought, that not all Jews are Israel, such that as Abraham being faithful to God in obeying the command to sacrifice his only son on the altar, set the pattern of what a Jew who would be Israel should be: One who knows that the Lord has provided Himself a Lamb], and that God ain't foolin' around when He says this: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"

Since the ascension of the crucified Christ to the Father in heaven, those on earth who are called by His name are the christians.

We cry about the dead pursuits of the heathen, abortion, same sex marriage, the feminisation of the schools, drugs, murder, war and all the other works of sinful men, which in reality are the righteous judgements against the world by a rightfully disgusted Holy God. But the plain fact is that we who believe live as though we do not. We sin and are not holy, and we do not turn from our wicked ways. We do not seek His face, we do not pray. All of the rot in the land is because we who are called by his name are guilty according to the above quote from 2 chronicles 7:14. We can repent of our sin, we can seek the face of God and pray, we can live holy lives, and God will hear from heaven and HEAL OUR VARIOUS LANDS. But it will require all of us to pray every single day and be holy every single day. If we can't do that, then we shall have to watch the heathen go about their grievous works and hold our peace, cause what they are doing is our fault, and we will be held accountable.

I say this because I know that the preparation of the heart in man and the reply of the tongue is of the Lord. As he did with Pharoah, so has he done with the great number of unbelievers. Neither man nor Satan controls anything. It's all our fault. We who know don't pray, we who know don't repent, we who know don't live holy lives. The land is wounded because of us, pagan/christian blurring of festivals notwithstanding.

Hi all

I just wanted to share a prophecy given and upheld in church.

"We are coming to the end of the humanist culture- and are entering the time of neo paganism.

As a church body we must prepare for this by moving away from the straight talking and doing signs and wonders in and outside of our community.

In order to do this the church as a whole must seek Gods presence in a new way- just as Moses requested in exodus and the Lord protected his eyes.

we are to rest there and the Lord will use the time to confirm his special mission for each of us."

What do you all perceive the Lord is doing here?

The Lord is preparing for the day of wrath, where a handful of saints will lead the Lord

I think this is just it.

Also the disciples were zapped with the Holy spirit at pentecost to go and preach in power to their PAGAN culture.

There has to be a link between paganism and holy spirit powers.
