It's not like I really believe it or give it a second thought. It's just fun. And nowadays they are less about telling someones future and more about morals. The ones I usually get tend to say things like...live each day to the fullest, exc..

We made fortune cookies not too long ago- they were delicious- and we put "Proverbs" inside them, (from the book of Proverbs...) instead of strange phrases. I do think that someone sure must have had creativity, coming up with the fortunes for all those many cookies.... I wonder how many duplicates there are.... :-)

It's all fake and made up, and shouldn't be taken seriously. The cookie is good, anyway.

That's 4 or 5 occasions more than me. ** I don't know if fortune cookies at one time were meant to foretell your fortune, but what we get now is just some pre-fab ditties to make you feel happy that are stuffed in shells. So, unless someone with a gift of discerninig of spirits can affirm that there are demons in those things, I'd say they are nothing.

A buddy of mine at work goes with me for Chinese usually a couple of times a month. We love reading the "fortunes" and either making fun of them, adding ridiculous add-ons to them, or wishing they would come true, lol!

My family has this tradition of putting random sayings on at the end of them...hillarity usually ensues. Personally I prefer to eat them, as long as they are fresh. I hope you get rid of the paper center first!!
