I read the book, I will see the movie.................and faltering Christians that would believe this book will find something something else to lead them astray, they always do. We are supposed to study to show ourselves approved. People who believe this are the ones that don't read the Bible for themselves and their beliefs change with who ever they are listening to at the moment, thats the only "religion" they are ever going to have anyway. Someone who's really interested checks and reads and finds out for themselves what is truth and what isn't.

I do find it rather surprising that so many who will stand up for secular books, SciFi, Horror, Harry Potter, or what ever and defend it as okay to read, say this fiction book is wrong because of the message it sends. Well maybe I don't actually find it surprising, we all (my self included) think our foibles are okay, but someone else's are wrong.

There's a difference between chasing little green men and calling Jesus a fake. The movie is more poison being spewed out of Hollywood. :whistling:

The funny thing is that even non-Christians who have researched the claims have found them to be false.

What's funny about that, as the claims are clearly nonesensical. Being a non-Christian doesn't make you stupid. anyway for those who don't like the sound of the film, I suggest you don't go and see it.

Being a non-Christian doesn't make you stupid.

 Never meant to imply that.

My point was that usually I hear non-Christians all over anything that would discredit the Bible, and pretty much only Christians are left to fend for their faith.

In this case, non-Christians, who have no reason to find fault with the theory, found just that - fault after fault.

There is a difference in a horror book and a book that wants to distort the Word of God all under the cover of being a book about relegion.

when the book came out, it was listed as a novel so I bought it, and it is really a good book. I never thought at the time that anyone would seriously consider the behind the scenes theme of Mary and Christ to be for real.

Personally I think everyone should go watch it so we can tell folks from the heart that it is fiction and when they ask if you have seen it you can say "Yes I have." and whether or not you liked it. If the movie is half as exciting as the book it should be a good "FICTION" movie.

Sam, I can't. I simply cannot. I can just no longer sit back and watch the Lord Jesus' Name be defiled on the Big Screen or small screen. I'm frankly sick of it! I'm sick of the honor of my Lord being dragged through the mud. I don't need to see porn to know it's filth....

I don't need to see the Da Vinci Code to know it's even worse...

Would you feel good if I made up a story about you? I could fill it half full of truth and throw a few lies in to spice it up. Would you like that?

Geri, I'm with you on this one....I won't give a single cent to someone who's trampling on the good Name of my Lord Jesus. Why should I line their pockets, when they hold the Lord of Lords in contempt and revile and profane His holy Name?

How is it possible we find dishonoring the Name of Christ as "entertainment"? I guess I'm just a fanatic ...

Except that the Da Vinci code is a work of fiction, and the author has never claimed that it wasn't. This is in contrast with those "Left behind" books that do make claims to being Christian, whilst weaving out some bizzare pseudobiblical fantasy.

The difference is that "Left Behind" is based upon a particular eschatological point of view upon Scripture. They do take dramatic license to fill in some blanks.

The DaVinci code is a work of fiction, and it may actually be plagiarized from the 70s book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail. While it purports to be fiction, many are seem to be taking it seriously as a legitimate alternative to view of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene.

Left Behind is not even the same category as the Da Vinci Code.

Both in my opinion can be categorized as rubbish.

Regardless, of what you think about either one, your comparison was invalid.
