Dear Catsmeow, thank God that He has given you this revelation, I have done a great deal of research on the verichip and the evil marketing strategies behind it. The book of revelation is such a blessing to warn us of things that are coming to pass faster than we can speak and being forwarned by the word of God and His Spirit is vital. We can only try to warn others. As Christians it is very important to stay alert of the deceptions of the enemy and how he may try to ensnare us, this survellance technology is being promoted as being cool to 'get chipped' and responsible to help keep tabs on things for security etc, but all people are doing is handing over control to a government authority that are developing more and more sophisticated technology able to monitor more about those implanted.

As much as this technology sounds fantastic I would be willing to forward links and references from scientific Journals should anyone be interested as I did a project on it at Uni.

In Ezekiel 9 there appears with the angels of destruction, a "man with a writer's ink horn," who is instructed to 'mark' all the righteous in their forheads, before the destruction of Jerusalem. Do we imagine THAT mark was a literal mark?

Then WHY do we look for a literal 'mark' from the beast of Revelation?

Foolishness!!!

Thank You!

The part about the mark is not figurative language. How could not taking an invisible mark "in one's soul", for example, prevent them from buying and selling? If the mark were figurative, it would not be able to do this. The mark must therefore be some manner of detectable stamp or badge which people must have to buy and sell.

Did you forget that the Jews had a hard buying and selling at the time the Holocaust was getting under way. They didn't have to wear any physical marks untill long after the "No Jews" signs started going up.

It sounds rediculous to say that the enemy will be able to tell a christian from a beast worshipper on physical appearance alone. How many people have been the victims of wolves in sheep's clothing? Or bad guys getting fooled by sheep in wolve's clothing. Just look at all the captured drug dealers we have, because an undercover agent pretended to be the bad guy. Revelations uses metaphors to describe things the author could not understand or had no words to describe. If he saw a microchip implanted in someone's arm or forehead, he wouldn't know what that was, all he would see is the little red mark or bump where that mark was implanted. What about travel being increased, or increase of knowledge. He wouldn't know what a plane was or a computer or the internet was going to be. So he had to use the best of his vocabulary to describe what to expect. And if something was indescribable, he had to result to using metaphors.

A person will take a mark to show allegiance and worship of the Beast. What that mark may be, is unknown. Bar Code tatoos seemed to be the thing in the 90's, but now our technology has progressed to VFID chips, which seems very practical. Did you know a Canadian and an American couple implanted RFID chips in each other so they could have access to each other's homes, computers, vehicles, and financial information? They did it as a hi tech way of conveying trust for each other. This is not something we want the government to take any part of.

Some things just need to be taken literally. Others need to be interpreted in context. Some things have been "encrypted" so that the understanding of those will not happen until the right time.

Who would have thought 10 years ago that we could communicate with someone in iceland at the touch of a button. Video teleconferencing is becoming the norm and there is endless information on the web that most all of us have access to. No one understood the true meaning of those things until recently. During the 1800's no one imagined we could travel to Europe in 8 hours. They were still using sailboats to cross the pond.

This increase in knowledge has made us aware of world events, something of which we have never had access to before. The internet is used for good and evil, but either way, it serves God's purpose.

Later.

Calm down, there is no reason to fly off the handle here or even question our eternal security because we happen to believe the mark is figurative..

Maybe it has something to do with that "foolishness" word...... one usually doesn't take too kindly being called a fool, or even acting or writing like one..... Maybe you both should attend diversity classes and learn how to talk and treat people.... or go back to my wife's kindergarten class..... you could learn a lot.

it's all about marking animals not people, a more sophisticated, and probably less painful form of branding (in the red hot iron applied to a moo-cow's bum meaning of the word) really. I'm sure all those cowboy fans out there approve of that. Having seen the problems caused by BSE (mad cows' disease) and foot and mouth, I appreciate the sense of being able to identify the the origins and history of domeastic animals.
