I know you are supposed to capitalize God's name, and everything referring to him, like Him, the Light, the Christ... But what if you are talking about you and God in the pronoun we? If I just say we then it feels like I'm degrading God, but if i spell it We, then it sounds wrong too.

What is it suppose to be?

Capitalizing the words are a sign of respect to God, so if the primary subject is God, and you wish to show honor to Him, capitalize it, if the main focus is NOT God, then don't. Easy enough

In Jesus Name

I agree with Logos - we are not "supposed to". We do it out of respect. :24:

Yeah, afterall He did create us, and love us, and give us anything we'll ever need. :noidea:

I just thought of another question when I read that... Since God is a spirit, God is love, why do we call Him He?

I know that it doesn't sound right to call Him it, or she, but I am not sure why we use Him.

Is it becuase we have nothing else to call Him?

But what if you are talking about you and God in the pronoun we?

:noidea: I've never used or seen anyone use "me and God" or "God and me" as one unit before . . . so I haven't got the foggiest!

why do we call Him He?

Because that's what the Bible uses.

Actually, I believe Hebrew is one of those languages where nouns are masculinized or feminized. For instance, in Spanish, every noun is "el"-something or "la"-something. There is no word for "it" in Spanish. The same would be for Hebrew.

Since God is used in the masculine, we use God in the masculine.

Make sense?

Also its to make a difference between the Lord and gods in general. Since they are the same word - God and god, you capitalize it to make it a formal noun.

If you're using 'we' then God is NOT the primary or sole focus and is an equal partner in the pronoun, so I would venture that you would not capitalize 'we' in that case.
