We didn't attend church in Alaska because we worked 7 days a week. It was 9 weeks, 12 hours a day on and 2 weeks off. We often came back to Texas during the two weeks off. I love Alaska and we almost bought land up there and was going to build a log house. There was plenty of land for sale in between North Pole and Fairbanks at that time. My husband, Gary who is shadow2b on this board decided that we would come back to Texas after the job was over. He has wished many times that we had stayed up there. We really miss the beauty of Alaska. I only remember one church in North Pole when we were there and I think it was a Baptist Chruch. Has North Pole grown a lot?

There are several great people I know there and have lost touch with them over the years. I had a great friend named June that bought land and built right outside of North Pole. I had so many different nationalities of friends that are still in Alaska. We rented a house in the woods from a guy named Eric and the propane line had a leak in it. The house blew up while we were in Texas during Thanksgiving.

June is caucasian, Eleanor is Athbascan Indian and Carol is half Eskimo. I have another friend who is Eskimo and sad to say I can not remember her name. I will remember it later. Anyway, she and her husband had a Christian band and they were living in our house while we were gone because they had been invited by several churches to sing and their home was too far away for them to travel to Fairbanks. You think the Lord isn't good? When the house blew up, they were in Chruch singing and Praising the Lord.

ya, Alaska has grown, about 5,000 people live in North Pole, and we have lots of restaraunts in such a small town, we have McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subway The Great Alaskan Pizza Company (little ceasors), Food Factory, The Elfs Den, some other pizza place, Pagoda, The Ty Restaraunt, and a few other places. What restaraunts did Np have when you were up here? Do you remember Super Value the store? Well they changed the na,e to Carrs, and then recently changed it to Safeway. What places in Np do you remember? What year were u up here, where did you work? Most ppl that live in Np are not native, which is odd, but most native ppl live in Fairbanks rather than Np.

We lived in North Pole from 1975 to 1978. We worked on the Alyeska Pipleine. My husband was a pipeline welder most of the time and a Union Steward some of the time. I worked as a Bullcook taking care of the barracks out in the wilds of Alaska on the other side of Brookes range.

We kept our house in North Pole, we were always having people fly in that we would pick up from the airport that would come and stay with us on their way out to the line.

When we lived in North Pole there was only one church and a post office. There was not a store that I remember. I always had to go to Fairbanks to buy any groceries. There was Santa's House, I really don't remember the name it was called. Maybe Santa Land. You would know what it is called. Are you old enough to remember the Alyeska pipeline or where you there then? I think a lot of people stayed up there when the job was over.

It is so hard to believe that North Pole has grown that much. It really is amazing and kind of sad too. I really loved the feel of living in the country. Moose, Deer and Elk rubbing their antlers against the house in the middle of the night. I just can't imagine it being any different.

Where do you work? I don't know whether to ask how old you are or not. You seem a lot younger than I am. Were you born in Alaska and if so did your parents move there because of the pipeline?

It is past 4 AM here. I better get to bed and will talk more tomorrow. We have a lot to catch up on and discuss. I am very thrilled you are on the board. I have so often longed for North Pole once again. The peace and serenity of a beautiful and quiet night. Even when it was it was light at 12 midnight. :t2:

No I still attend school, I go to North Pole Christian School. R u sure that there was only one church in North Pole? If so I think it might of been my church because its right next to the Post Office, and it has been around since the late 60's. Or it could of been North Pole First Baptist Church, that has been around for ALONG time. I have lived in North Pole all my life, which I guess is cool but this town is so small that its not all that great. Fairbanks is pretty kewl tho.

k, my mom lived in a Homestead 49 half-mile Elliot Hwy towards Livengood. ever heard of that?? And my dad came up to Alaska bekuz his brother worked here. And my dad is the boss of Advance Printing.

I see moose probably like once a month, but in the winter I see them more.

hmmmmm.... what else in North Pole is there????? There is the Santa Claus House in North Pole.

The Northern Lights are out like every single night now that it is dark. So when we see them we are not all like WOW!!!! we r just used to it, same with moose.

So was the airport you were talkin about Alaska Airlines? Or was it something else?

Well I gotta go, we r having company over, I better do soe cleaning. Bye its SOoOoOoOoO nice talkin to you, GBU

From what I remember there was only one church and it was next to the post office. North Pole even has a Christian School now? How awesome. Does the church have the Christian school? There could have been two but I just only remember one church.

It has been so long that I don't remember the Elliot Hwy. There was a camp in Livengood where most of the officials stayed. Happy Valley is one places that I worked. Camp Dietrick another and the last one I worked in was Franklin Bluff.

Growing up in Alaska I guess the Northern Lights would not be as spectacular to you. The Northern Lights are absoutely beautiful to me though.

The airport was called Wein Air Alaska Airlines way back when. I'm getting so old. :x: We called the planes weiny birds. :t2:

Talk later.

Well I take that back the Northern Lights are beautiful, i just see them every night. On my b-day last year I was outside in the snow and I looked up and it was like pink and blue and yellow and green and it was moving very fast, that was the prettiest North Lights I have ever seen.

No, the school that I attend is not with a church. Only about 150 ppl go to my school, and it is pre k to 12th grade. There are lots of public schools in North Pole, North Pole High, North Pole Middle, North Pole Elementary, and Tickisuk Brown elementary school, and I guess somewhere there is a North Pole Acadamy.

How many people lived in North Pole when you were up here? How was Fairbanks back then? How many ppl lived there?

 I knew you would have to admit the Northern Lights are beautiful and I knew you just grew up with them so they are with you much of the time. Those lights you describe sounds awesome. I would love to see them. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

You are really testing my memory. :t2: I have to blush because I can't remember so many things. That has been 28 years ago. You were not even born at that time.

There were very few people in North Pole back then, it was mostly country. The town was extremely small. They did have a school that my children attended. I know they were 11 and 12 at the time they started there, but don't remember the name of the school. As far as I know there was only one school in North Pole at the time. The kids always rode a bus.

Something else I can't remember is the name of the highway leading from Fairbanks to North Pole. It seems like it took 15 to 20 minutes to get to Fairbanks from where we lived. Coming from Fairbanks we turned right off of the highway and Eric, our landlord lived in the bigger house and we went a little ways further and there was a cabin down in the woods. I have pictures of that place. Well, like I told you, it is no longer there because it blew up.

Are you a girl or a guy? The reason I am asking is your avatar says Alaskan Chick. It doesn't matter and you don't have to answer. I like talking to you. I miss Alaska a lot. My husband and I will probably never get back to Alaska as sad as that is.

Do you know Greyling or Grayling? That is where Elinore, one of my Athbascan Indian friends lived. I think ya'll are 4 hours behind us. It is 11:15 PM here. So, it must be 7:15 PM there. Talk later.

hey! The Hwy you were talkin about was the Old Richardson Hwy.

Did they have radio station in North Pole back in da day. Now we have KLOVE a christian radio station that plays all over America in certain cities.

I dont have a clue who Greyling or Grayling is, lol.

I am a female.

Did you know who Dave Ainly is? He is an elder at my church and I think he has lived here for a long time. That would just be the bomb-digidee if you knew anyone that I know.

I have never even seen a deer or and elk that I know of, I know that ppl that go hunting get them, but its not like we see them in our yard like we would moose.

So when you fist moved up to North Pole were you surprised how in the summer it never gets dark, and in the winter it gets dark at like 4:00 pm. And then when you moved and you went back to wherever you live now and you were not used to how it doesnt get dark until night.

Well I better go, I have school tomorrow. Bye <//><

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
