Smile & Be Joyful 4 GOD Loves U!

I have been studying some Bible verses and I think the pathway to heaven is the narrow way.

I do believe that accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and knowing that He died on a cross for my Salvation (and yours) is the Start of the pathway.

However, I am realizing that there is alot more to do, then only accepting Him. Jesus did help the poor, fed and gave them drink. These are good works then and now, to those who give and recieve.

I am learning that I can no longer associate with folks who don't do as Jesus did/does. I don't do this to begin with.

I must discern just about everything I hear, that doesn't sound like it came from the King James Bible.

I don't know if you know this or not but some Bibles being published today have added and deleted words to them.

Man's traditions are in every church around where I live. So finding a true Bible preaching church is tuff.

Praying is very Important. I would say it is 2nd on the pathway UP. There are people who don't know how to pray, I know I was one of them. I could recite a prayer however to just pray johnny on the spot, I was dud, not good at it.

I am still not that great but I do do it. I didn't give up.

Well I could go on and maube I will later on.

Now you can add your thoughts to this topic. :)

I will probably draw the wrath of many here, but your post is one of the most self-righteous I have ever seen on any Christian message board. You "don't associate with folks who don't do as Jesus did?" You must have a real small group of friends! You are definitely riding the glorious hot air balloon dear soul.

As I've commented before the measure of a Christian is probably more the realization of just what a sinner he/she is rather than how good they are and how they need to build a barrier between themselves and the world we live in. Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly than to divide the spoil with the proud.

You invited my thoughts and you have them. I hope you see them as helpful at some point in the future rather as an attack.

The path is indeed narrow.

"Enter by the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it". Matthew 7:13-14

Matthew 6:9 says "In this manner therefore pray"...He gives us the Lords prayer. He already knows what's on your mind and what your needs are. I start all of my prayers with the Lords prayer. Sometimes that's all I pray.

Hanging out with those who don't believe is really not a bad thing. You never know, maybe a little bit of God will rub off on them.

Anyway...I found nothing wrong with your post.

You can't be faulted for trying.

Thank you for your thought on this topic.

I should have made myself more clear and said that I don't associate with people who use the "F" word, take the Lord's name in vain, and think the good life is having Big house, lots of money and all kind's of big people's toys.

As far as friend's go I don't have but one or two. When you Choose to walk a Holy life. it's only you and GOD on the narrow pathway.

You call that dragging her over the coals, chief? It wasn't that I forgot to answer the question. The narrow way is Christ, not some new form of monasticism. But her greater question was our opinion of how she was attempting to define the narrow way. God will divide the sheep from the goats someday. It is not our job to do so now in our blindness and hypocrisy.

Then why do you continue to try and do so?

And while you're there whipping yourself, why don't give yourself a couple of extra whacks for that "chief" comment.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
