Basically what I need is something that blocks out porn and other inappropriate materials. And I need it to be free Also, it would be nice if it could be applied to only one users account, so that his family isn't bothered by it. Thanks all. Try going to this website: http://www.tucows.com/ & type in internet security. There are shareware and freeware programs & plenty to choose from. I did a search and found shareware, freeware & demo's. Tucows offers many, many varieties of software needs. Yesterday I downloaded a backup program and it worked wonderfully. Guest LadyC Posted August 12, 2006 Share Posted August 12, 2006 safeeyes.com has a really good one but it isn't free... it has a two week free trial though. it's designed so that you can either block porn (or whatever) OR use it with an accountability partner. if using the second option, you are able to go wherever you want, but a daily log of where you go is sent to an accountability partner of your choice. and that's an awesome feature because it makes the user have to be responsibile for the decisions he makes regarding his viewing habits. and yes, it can be tailored for one person or for various people in a house with different settings. (the OPERA browser doesn't support it, though) What it does is, when you type in a search term, alongside the search results, it will give either a warning sign or a 'thumbs up' regarding contents of the sites displayed in your search, before you click on them. It is called SiteAdvisor, and it comes free from McAfee. Here is the link to download it: http://www.siteadvisor.com/ And here is a short Metacafe clip showing you how it works. This is worth watching before you download it, so you know how it functions: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/386111/stay_...l_site_advisor/ I find it to be a very useful tool, as it warns of whether or not sites have links to 'Red' sites, and also how many junk emails you are likely to receive from each site by visiting it. Thanks all. damo1 high keilans if you can pm and leave me your contac details i can post safe eyes to you i live in Australia so i am not sure if this wil work in your part of the world i have not used this yet on my computer as i am strong enough but hear our goverment gave safe eyes for free and is an internet filter and this wil last a life time not for 2 week trial it is a parental control software and comes with cds inside so if you are intrested i wil be very happy to do this for you but it wil get to you after christmas no charge to you at all i am happy to do this i can always get another one if i want it as this is given to australian residents your info wil be safe with me and i can get rid of this once i have sent it of to you god bles from your brother in the lord damien stipic Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
