  5. Jehovea witnesses do not like it when you question their doctrine or tell them to their face they are being deceived i had two female Jw knock on my door when i asked what their purpose was they told me who they were and wanted to leave me one off their tracks i said i am a christian and that track you hand out and are leaving on my neighbours screen doors will be burnt i told them simply do not come a knocking and preaching your deluded doctrine in this street i offered to pray for them but i guess they took off and were not willing to be told the truth

  9. How long have you had the cat? Cats do not handle change well. If the cat is hiding, it's likely because he hasn't adjusted yet. In other words, he hides because he is frightened, insecure. Perhaps attempting to play with him with one of those wands with a dangling string and tassel or something on the end will help him get used to you? But basically, it will take a few weeks to a couple months for the cat to truly adjust. So just be patient. As for the glass door, it could be one of two things: 1. If he is used to going outdoors, he's probably wanting to go back outdoors 2. Cats just enjoy looking outside. Try moving a small table or something (and stack things on top if need be) for the cat to be able to sit/lie by the window. I bought a cat ledge for my previous cat (you can get them at pet stores), and she loved it. Cats prefer heights anyway (in the wild, they will hang out in trees), so something like that might help encourage the cat to come out from the bed once in a while. i have had him for 7 months know he is mainly an in door cat nebula as his previous owner he use to stay under the bed or under the lounge this is what my friend told me who was above her and had to make sure she was looking after the two cats and dog i do not trust the neighbour hood i am in as two cats got run over my land lord has two small dogs and jack comes to the glass door and barks constantly when my cat is their my land lord tells me as i work during the evenings come home by 12 am my time i have him sit with me when i get home and give him a good pat as he likes it i will try that as i never have taken on a cat like this one i mainly get a kitten that is what i wanted to get but my friend rang me and asked if i wanted him he is slowly coming out from under the bed and sits know near my chair but when i stand up to go and make coffee he runs back under the bed i will go to our local pet store
  10. thank you other one i will go to my local pet store and check it out

  14. I was talking with my wife one off the police officers who was wounded is a relative off ours he is very young and is in critical condition my wife told me that they are staying in doors as their are helicopters flying around and police and army are hunting these guys down as the attack happened not far from our provinance BY BY JIM GOMEZ, ASSOCIATED PRESS FROM THE WIRES, NEWS MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Gunmen hiding in a sugarcane field ambushed a truckload of policemen and village guards who had helped secure a village dance festival, killing nine and wounding nine others Sunday in the central Philippines, officials said. About 20 gunmen raked the victims’ truck with automatic weapon fire before dawn in the foothills of Mount Kanlaon in Negros Occidental province, firing nearly 300 rounds of ammunition. One police officer was among those killed and two others were wounded, provincial police Chief Celestino Guara said. Eight other people, mostly village guards, were killed and seven others were wounded. They had joined the police in helping protect a village festival late Saturday and were traveling back to La Castellana town’s main police station when they were attacked, police said. “Our policemen managed to return fire but there were just too many gunmen firing away,” Guara said by cellphone from the scene of the attack. Road checkpoints were immediately set up and government troops launched a manhunt for the attackers, who fled toward a forest in Negros Occidental, a poor, sugar-producing province about 470 kilometers (280 miles) southeast of Manila. Police said the attackers may have been communist New People’s Army guerrillas. “Before withdrawing, the gunmen yelled, ‘Long live the New People’s Army,’” Guara said. One of the three police officers in the truck had received death threats over a land dispute, and his adversaries may have enlisted the help of the Maoist guerrillas to go after him, Guara said. However, army brigade commander Col. Oscar Lactao said the attackers may have been members of an illegal logging group. A forest ranger was killed by suspected illegal loggers in the area last year, he said. The killings are the latest in a flurry of gun violence that has revived calls for tighter gun controls. The country has long grappled with communist and Muslim insurgencies, crime, and armed groups controlled by politicians, warlords and powerful families. Police estimate there are more than half a million unlicensed firearms in the country, down from more than a million a few years ago. Sunday’s attack occurred despite a national 150-day ban on the carrying of firearms outside residences imposed by election officials to prevent violence ahead of congressional and local elections on May 13.

  16. when i was young and a non believer i thought it was just made up story"s that were taught to our parents to scare us kids this is what i thought when ever i heard my grandmother saying that god will strike me with a lightening bolt if i did not behave and pull my head in also my grandmother would say god sees everything i do which i found hard to believe when it comes to non believers and atheists questioning what i believe i tend to just answer honestly with out beating around the bush as they have a free will and its not up to me if they believe what i say i let the one questioning me decide for them selves as i have learnt i will never be able to take that persons will off them to were i force them to believe what i believe also i have learnt some people who question what i believe don"t want to learn the truth i have come across guys who just want to argue i am good at reading people and when i pick up that all the person wants to do is pick a fight or argue i simply just end the conversation as by doing this you don"t fall in that trap the person has set to were they tick you off and cause you to lose it 2 Timothy 3:16 New International Version (NIV) 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work
  17. man, i sure hope not. i'm having a hard enough time already dealing with all the free-roaming cats and such... i know what you mean i am not sure if its due to me having a cat but their has been a big posum hanging around and the noise this posum makes it freaks me out sits at my bedroom widow near the hedge the cat gets on the bed and its as if he wants to have a good go at him or stirring the posum up hehehe, i don't mind the ol' 'possums coming by here, but none have camped out yet. that might be kinda weird... were i live in Canberra the possums are in every suburb this one that has camped in my place always comes around at 1 am he jumps on my roof as its a tin roof and you know its him i clean during the evening come home by 12 am my time at first i did not know what it was making that strange noise but wondered why my cat keeps jumping on my bed and looks out the window as a i have a fly screen so he can not get out yeah it is kind off weird
  18. man, i sure hope not. i'm having a hard enough time already dealing with all the free-roaming cats and such... i know what you mean i am not sure if its due to me having a cat but their has been a big posum hanging around and the noise this posum makes it freaks me out sits at my bedroom widow near the hedge the cat gets on the bed and its as if he wants to have a good go at him or stirring the posum up
  19. lol i was wondering the same thing when i got off the bus and walking to my house why the dogs in my street were not barking and why my cat was hiding under my bed when i got home
  20. will we be seeing this creature lurking in our suburbs we live in ? loved this movie when it came out Jurassic park
  21. I agree with what HisG is saying when it comes to forums like this one and any other christian forums i tend to do a lot off reading and when i feel it is right to say something i will but a lot off the times i come hear just to read what is being discussed as this gives me the chance to hear what other Christians are saying from different parts off the world when i was a young Christian my pastor threw me in the deep end by doing this it helped me get out off my comfort zones and i learnt a lot from my pastor and the men that god put around me he would take me to several different suburbs in Canberra i play the guitar and my pastor took his guitar with him we sang the songs we sing in our Sunday morning service and night service i got the chance to put what i heard into action my pastor believed in encouraging new Christians to walk in the gifts that god has given them and not to were they just keep a pew warm sometimes you say nothing other times god puts people in our path and you know its god putting that person in our path i don"t drive too work i catch the bus to work as the bus leaves my place and stops right at the door were i work i have had the chance to have some good conversations sometimes i just don"t say nothing as people want to be left alone but their have been times were people i do not know have struck up a conversation with me and that is the time i just ask the spirit to give me the right words to say i have even had the chance to meet other Christians two get the same bus i get and i did not know they were Christians and they did not know i was a Christian reading this forum as i said helps me understand were others are at and what god is doing in other parts of the world
  22. it doesn't matter what his position is/was. God is no respector of persons. we're to treat everyone the same. as a pastor, he knows better than anyone what he has done, as well as the fallout from it. bottom line, he's just a human. regarding advice, in my experience if you're offering it unsolicited, you're not only wasting your breath you may be pushing him farther from resolving his relationship foremost with God, as well as with anyone else directly involved in the situation. if he's a true believer, i promise you God is dealing with him every second he's awake. whether or not he yields to the Lord is completely his decision. how do i know this? i turned my back on God for 24 years, as well as some people involved with a particular situation (perhaps not as serious as your friend's, but i'm a tenacious sort. once my mind's made up, that's it.) and for 24 yrs i had no peace, no joy, no contentment. i just wanted to be left alone. a lay preacher friend from my youth, with whom i spent many hours witnessing and soul-winning some years ago, asked me a little over a year ago how things were with me and the Lord. i told him i didn't want to go there, didn't want to talk about it. he responded with no problem; when you get ready to talk, i'm as close as the phone, and left it right there. and when the Spirit finally started having some success tearing down the wall i'd built around my heart, i called my friend one night and told him i wanted to talk. he said i'll be there in 10mins., and he was. the point is, that's all YOU can do. let your friend know you care, and you're there for him. then leave it alone. the Lord will deal with him; and He knows so much more about dealing with humans than we do. in the first place, He created us. and over countless millenia, He has seen and heard it all from us. all you can do is love your friend and pray for him. and when he gets ready to talk, be ready to listen. John 3:17 (KJV) 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. hi selasphorus all i am doing is just listening and being their when he needs me i have had to show him that i am their not to judge him but some times i wonder if by just being a friend has made it worse to were he avoids dealing with what he knows he needs to deal with if you can understand were i am coming from i have seen the pressure put on pastors and i have seen what they have to deal with i also understand were you are coming from as i have also been their my self walked away from god made it hard for the people who knew me in the church that i was a member off to track me down got rid off all that i had brought and burnt my christian cd and bibles i even moved to a town were their was not a church as the town i moved to was a another small farming community little did i know the people god had put in my path prayed for me and did not stop praying god answered their prayers i have been praying that god would put some stable christian men in his path as he knows some off the other pastors their are at least 12 churches and i know that he will be welcomed and not judged he took on a church that was good at dictating telling the previous pastors what they could preach from the pulpit and what they could not preach he came from a charasmatic up bringing the church he took on was a very traditional church i even asked him why did he apply he said he felt he could bring some change but he saw once he settled into the roll he had a hard task what hurts is the way he has been treated and the gossip that has been circulating he is very brave for staying in the community as he owns his own home and does not want to sell it i have not judged him or the youth pastor he got involved with when i am with him i just ask god to get rid of what i might be really wanting to say i even told the women he is with i will never judge you or ask why as i could pick up that she thought i was like the members in the church and she has seen that i am different with his first wife that had to go back to the philippines all i am doing is praying that she lets go of the anger and moves on what i am asking god is should i just continue being that friend with out judging him and is it helping by letting him be him self as he has a good heart their have been times were i just wanted to whack him but i had to give what i was feeling over to god
  23. Oh, do you know how many times I have felt like whacking someone over the head with the bible! Jesus, whack, Loves, whack, You! Whack, and one more to get my point across.. But Grace is an amazing thing. Pray for him, stand on your faith, and even if he refuses to let God deal with the situation, God will anyway. Pastors fall as hard as anyone else, sometimes harder. We should treat them like anyone else, human and a sinner. We place them in positions of trust, and when they disappoint us we are shocked and outraged. That is a normal reaction to have, but that is where we need to be the example they should have been setting. We should always be the example to anyone around us, pastor, elder, or child. Their standing matters not. Our stand does. thanks fez at least you can see were i am coming from its what i tend to do even though i moved from the small farming community i often get asked how can you be seen with him as i keep in contact with some off the people i got to know i never done what many do he knew he could be him self around me i just thought i would throw that one in to see what others might have to say when it comes to giving advice
  24. easy said try that with a friend who was a pastor what gets me i want to beat this guy over the head with the bible but its as if i am treading a fine line i try my best not to judge him or do what the other members have done by shunning him from the community he left his wife and two daughters got involved with the youth pastor he thought no one new what he was up to i sort off picked up something was wrong but did not want to get in on the gossip that already was circulating among the members and the elders what got me he put on a whole different face during the Sunday morning service my self and another guy who did the Emause walk were the only two he trusted his wife really helped me under stand my wife and often talked to me when i needed advice she is a filipina her self she ended up loosing her rights to settle in Australia and has had to face her family and friends fez would know what she has had to deal with so how do you give advice to a man who refuses to allow god to deal with the damage he has done he is lucky that he did not get hurt by the youth pastors husband do you just continue putting the hand out be their when he rings or as i suggested whack him real hard with the thickest bible
  25. well i will not say what we do with the cane toads they tend to get their flying lessons in early
