Did you have a bad experience with a Taser as a child? Just because some Tasers are evil doesn't mean they all are. Let us try to forgive the evil tasers in the world - No Taser is perfect - all misfire at some point -

CSL let's not misrepresent things. A Taser is an inanimate object so therefore cannot be evil in itself, but is always used for evil. It is a device for electrocuting people, causing 50,000 volts to enter their body. It has no other use. There have been several deaths as a result of "being tasered". It also has the ability to stop a pacemaker from working or damage it extensively. It has been known to cause miscarriage in pregnant women. "Taser-happy" police have no way of knowing whether or not their victim has a pacemaker or (if female) is pregnant.

A pen can be used for evil, but the pen in itself is not evil as it is an inanimate object intended for writing, writing non-evil stuff as well. It has all sorts of uses.

I think you are likening the taser to a firearm. This is erroneous as the firearm has many uses other than shooting or killing people. We use guns for sports purposes and hunting. There is no comparison to the taser.

To your question, no, I did not have a "bad experience" with a taser. However, I have been accidentally electrocuted and it was one of the most horrible experiences of my life and I would never put anyone through that for anything. The shock I had was 230 volts, but I believe that it is the current that matters. The taser must have a particularly high-frequency current.

However, in this thread (or any other for that matter) I was not trying to make any point about tasers. In this particular one I was trying to make the point that "yes, bad things do happen in NZ, too, as it seemed that I was coming across in my posts as picking on America. In the other threads about tasers I was posting news items that people might have found interesting to read.
