I honestly cannot believe that the bible is black and white. This is ridiculous. I have seen theologians go to great lengths and well outside of the black/white area, just to reconcile some contradiction or mistake in the bible.

No gray, that is utterly ridiculous.

No I honestly don't care how ya'll wish to label me.

I do seem fickle, though, and I am terribly sorry for this.

By your standards, I am probably a nonbeliever, and you probably won't have to change it again either. I was reading the Statement of Faith, and it says that you have to believe that the Bible is infallible, and I don't think I could ever get that far. I'll try though!!

Not everyhting is so black and white. Christians who believe blindly are also ignorant. Ignorant of science and logic. My father who is a baptist christian questions the validity of many things in the Bible. He doesn't believe that only christians can understand the Bible and sees areas where the Bible contradicts itself.

Actually it is that black and white. Either you choose to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior or you deny Him. Where is the gray area? If you say you believe yet your heart is not sincere, it is a lie. Christians believe not blindly as most of you seem to find that one arguement "faith is blind" the core of our belief. We are not ignorant. We see more clearly than the wolves in sheeps clothing wandering aimlessly through life in worldly views and if I may be blunt, it is those that deny the truth that are ignorant. You will eventually see the Lord in all His glory. Which side will you be on His side or across the great divide as we shall all be judged but yet separated by our faith and our sincere heart. We see so clearly you can't imagine because your heart is hard and full of unrighteousness. That is ignorance. Again, the arguement of Bible contradictions is another excuse to as old and as immune to it as I am now, I have to ask, can you who deny and reject what is freely given, not come up with more creative and unique excuses? These are so old it's lame. Truly. However, I understand your ignorance as I was there once but my heart opened and invited Jesus in and my proof, the clarity, the essence in His Holy Spirit gives us a light as a beacon in the devils stomping grounds. His Spirit awakens and becomes alive where our spirit once was dead in sin. In this transformation, for some, immediate knowledge is evidence of the glory and mercy of God. Through obedience and commitment, repentence and praise along with daily readings of His word sustains us as a sheild of protection and we experience a peace and joy that far surpasses fleeting emotions such as happiness that you who walk in the dark are truly the blind for you must rely on other senses, worldly senses to do as you will. Succumb to your desires of the flesh where we live in the Spirit and our foundation is solid where your path is broad and leads to destruction.

I cannot take offense at your attititude because you are wallowing in this cestpool of sin called the world and you think everythings okay. Who are you accountable to? Who gives you what only God created and by His grace and mercy through our sincere truthful hearts, gives so abundantly. Everyday is a new day of mercies and knowledge. Not book knowledge but knowledge in the sense of wisdom and insight. We listen, we watch, we hear, we are given messages through others, through dreams, most importantly through His Word. Which by the way is written by man but inspired by God Himself. Those are His words given to us as our daily bread. HIS words, not mans and His message is very clear.

It is amusing that the arguement that the Bible is just a book of fairy tales man perpetrated for an avenue to find answers. And so many many times have I endured the statement the Bible has contradictions. To those who walk in the dark cannot understand nor comprehend Gods word without His Spirit dwelling within us. We accept what mysteries cannot be explained as the Lords plan has not yet finished. But soon, it will all be revealed and YOU will fall to your knees and see His sheep at His side and between us is a crevice so far, so wide, you cannot jump over it, you cannot climb down and climb up. It is too late for that. You have sealed your own eternal destiny in your ignorance. It is sad, truly because God does not want any to perish but choose life eternal as a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven.

People wrote the Bible Not God.

Again, man wrote the Bible through the divine inspired word of God so that we can commune with Him and go out and build more chuches, plant seeds, spread His word of the sacrafice of Jesus so that His loss is our gain. Bought by the price of a love so beyond what we can know and yet He gives us what we need. His Son, mocked, ridiculed, tortured to the point of wounds so deep His flesh was gaping deeply and the crown of thorns like tears the blood covered His face as He carried the cross He was to be nailed to, speared in the side, and suffer a painful death. For us. All of us. Even you. Why would someone do that? Because He loves us so much. He gave to us the gift of His wisdom through the ages and again, I'm sure I'll hear "and how can it be accurate with so many translations" this is where the Holy Spirit discerns for us. I personally do not question Gods Word. I have no doubt in my heart and soul that He lives among us and in us. Why? Because of my own transformation that no scholar, scientist, philospher, could ever in this world provide. I am evidence of His truth.

But again, you will deny, deny, deny but I do hope you will see His light open your heart and experience the truth for yourself before it's too late. At the sound of the last trumpet, you will be delivered into an eternal torment of hell. Don't just shake your head and disregard what you see here at Worthy. Ask yourself, how is it that all these people have the same mindset in belief and trust and obedience. What do they know I don't know? Can you sincerely call us all crazy creatures that use Jesus as a crutch? Sad for you if you do. For while you live in this world, we live in the Spirit and experience much more than earthly desires. Sure, we still are sinners, we still can be tempted but we have a powerful tool and that is the gift of faith. Faith yes in what we cannot "see" but we do see, we experience the Love of the Lord everyday we seek Him in our study, fellowship, bonding, and interacting with non believers and athiest who will refuse to lose their pride long enough to question our testimony of experiences that could only come from a higher power who is God. Only one God, not gods of the elements or mythology but one God, one Creator in three persons called the Holy Trinity. He is everywhere all the time. He knows you better than you know yourself. He challenges and teaches and allows us to experience adversity in our lives because it produces perserverance, strength, building of character, endurance and a deeper awareness out of the flesh and stronger in the Spirit.

Are you shaking your head and grimmacing? Are you going to come back with sarcasm that I have not given you or insults also not given to you but ask why am I taking the time to write all this? Because I am Gods gardener, I plant seeds... where they fall is not up to me. Jesus died for our sins, it really is very simple to acknowledge that you are a sinner as we all are and accept Him into your life. I promise you the journey will be one the lost in denial will never experience.

Who says your religion is right, how are you different (logically) from the "aggressive strong atheirsts"? You would most liekly rather die than see your religion proved wrong. What makes you better? Not to call you out on it but seriously why do ya'll always have to put peopel into these little boxes. Not everything is so clear cut

Christianity for some is not a religion but the belief in Christ, that is why we are called Christians. There are Christians who adopt a religion such as Catholics, Baptists, even Jews have come to the Lord where their doctrine believes Jesus was a prophet and are still waiting for the messiah to come. But many have come to Christ in their Judiasm. Religion is mans attempt to get to God bypassing Jesus. But God has come to us through His Son and the ultimate sacrafice of death and the glory of His resurrection and ascension into Heaven and yet, His Spirit lives and dwells within us, yes I've said that several times. But stick around and you will see, or not, at least I'm hoping you and others like you in the dark of the wickedness of the world, will see that we are humble, sometimes can be stubborn just like you, but shine with the Light of Jesus in our hearts and lives.

Yes, I would die for Jesus sake, I am waiting patiently for whatever His plan is for me. But when all is said and done, we don't see it the way you do as in who is better, who is right, wrong, why are all of you who come here so combative and for most some arrogance and a huge amount of pride that you just can't let go of enough to be kind without the attitude of who is right and who is wrong. It's not about that. Who is putting who in little boxes. We would rather adopt you and lead you to the glory of the Lord than adopt a point of view of wrong vs. right.

I do have to say, some of the very strong non believers and athiests come to Worthy with an attitude and arrogance and their own agenda refusing to acknowledge our replies but evasive in their own answers. Yes, times debates were heated on both sides but how awesome is it that the conflicts I have had personally have with some, turned around for both parties in respect, playful banter, even a bond, or connection. There are some here who are totally against our beliefs and yet, after all the combative interaction came this glorius mutual respect.

So, please, be sensitive, kind, leave thesarcasm and attitude behind and get to know us as you would anyone else. We are still human beings just like you and are sinners, the difference is we repent and beg forgiveness in our confession to Jesus. And this is an example. Suddenly all of our resentments, anger, lack of forgiveness of others comes to the surface so we can deal with it through His tutoring. We can't hold on to that pesty stuff if we are truly to be forgiven ourselves.

Hmm I don't see where that specific statement is made. Perhaps your interpretation. Either way, you are correct. Good works is a result and desire that comes from accepting in True belief. True believers know that works do not gain you a ticket to Heaven but is a by product out of a sincere desire to be an example of the Lord in helping others. Giving of oneselve out of love for our King not to gain praise or attention but in humlbeness and pure of heart to give of ourselves. It is in giving of ourselves that we learn and grow in our personal relationship with the Lord.

There are those out there who follow a doctrine of a religion that works and being a good law abiding citizen will seal your eternal salvation and they are not ignorant but are being mislead by the leaders of their congregation if that is how they preach. Sad, but true. Good works without surrendering our control to Jesus will NOT get us into Heaven. Some are even being mislead that they can know God without knowing Jesus but it clearly states, whomever confesses me with their mouth, I will confess them to my Father but he who does not confess of me, shall not know my Father, for I am the truth, the way and the light, it is only through me can you know my Father. I could look up the passage if anyone wants it. I know passages but cannot always remember specific vs. however I am working on that!!
