Furthermore, the science that Israel develops is used in the US. Much of the breakthrough research dealing with everything from auto-immune diseases to Alzheimers is being conducted in Israel, and exported to the US, and other countries.

Yet, Israel has never restricted its innovations with respect to medical advances to being the property of US and Israel only. Israel has sought to show these kindnesses particularly to their enemies in the hopes of ending bloodshed and violence by improving their quality of life. Of course, Israel is repaid for this with more wars, more terrorism, more media bias (which ignores any good that Israel does in the world), more calls for the destruction of Jews, more sanctions and resolutions against Israel's existence, and so on.

Israel does a lot for the world. In fact, Israel's enemies, even though they don't like to admit it, have been on the receiving end of Israeli kindness, and Israeli medical innovations. The article I cited, "Israel Tends the Tree of Life," demonstrates that even countries that are not particularly friendly, and have cast their lot with Arab world against Israel, have been the recipients of Israeli kindness, including Rwanda, Kenya, Turkey, Soviet Armenia, Muslim refugees from Kosovo, Ethiopia and the victims of the great Tsunami in Shri Lanka just a couple of years ago. In fact, Israel was the FIRST on the scene after the tsunami hit, but only after much prodding, did the media finally have to own up after days of trying to downplay and all but ignore the massive Israeli contribution to the victims (which dwarfed the Muslim contribution). Israel is even sharing its life saving advances in pediatric cardiac surgery with China.

Israel does not just bless one country, they bless the world. Yet, many of the countries Israel has blessed are the same ones who respond with resolutions limiting the areas of the Land of Israel that Jews should be allowed to live in. Consequently, they will reject any medical assistance be it medicine or personnel, if those medicines or people happen to live in one of the "forbidden" Israeli towns. They would rather let their own people die of treatable injuries.

And what possibly could be your motive for asking such a question? You evidently take time to notice what America has done for Israel, but you have not taken notice of what Israel has done for America??? All one has to do is read the internet or a newspaper daily and it is very obvious.

Well for starters KatyAnn, Israel is a leader in the area of medicine and science. Many American lives have been saved by advanced organ transplant procedures and technologies developed in Israel.

Israel developed the proximity detonator, and the US has benifited from that that technology. It was first used on the Israeli anti-missile system, and is being further developed by the US to use on military vehicles to detonate roadside bombs over 100 yards away, and hopefully save the lives more American soldiers.

Some of the ingredients that go into both prescription and over the counter drugs in the US come from pharmeceutical companies.

Among recent advances in Israeli medical research:

-- a minute device for early detection of cancerous and pre-cancerous

cells

-- treatment of cancer through the patient's own immune system cells

-- a device for patients with heart problems to monitor their condition

at home

--- a vaccine to prevent Alzheimer's Disease

-- music as therapy for high blood pressure

-- immunity to food allergies

-- treatment of infertility

Techniques and inventions created in Israel are now in use almost

worldwide. Among them

-- advances in solar energy and water desalination

-- nanotechnology

-- high-speed computer technology -- including a computer that

As for what America does for Israel, it is nothing to crow about. The US is nothing but a paper ally. It has only used Israel for what Israel can the save the US in intelligence costs. That is about as far as our "alliance" with Israel extends. If Israel provided no intelligence benefits, the US government would wash its hands of Israel, completely.

Frankly, I think the best thing in the world would be for Israel to get off the US dime forever. Only then would Israel be able to fight the terrorists the way they need to be fought. The Israeli government is to corrupt for that to ever happen, though.

Believe it or not, Israel is the only country in the world which had a net gain in the number of trees last year.

So, you can vilify and demonize the State of Israel. You can continue your silly boycott, if you wish. But I wish you would consider the consequences, and the truth.

Think of the massive contribution that Israel is giving to the world, including the Palestinians - and to you - in science, medicine, communications, security.

Pro rata for population we are making a greater contribution than any other nation on earth.

We can't be all bad....
