To not do so when the government allows it is insane. When you claim these on your taxes, do you get all your money back? Not the same amount per se but it reduces your tax liability. for example if you have 105k and you give 5,001 dollars to church, it will reduce your taxable amount to 99,999 dollars which puts you 1 dollar under the next tax bracket which is 39%. you are in teh 25% tax bracket which will save you 20,000 dollars. IF you make 100k your tax would be 39,000 if you are under 100k your tax is 25,000 dollars

Here is the best solution. Give your tithes, claim taxes on them. And then give a portion of the money you saved. (Probably more than 10% because it's saved money). That way whoever you are giving the money too (usually your church) gets even more.

Yes...anyway, when you think about it, tithes basically were the ancient Hebrew's taxes, because they were under a theocracy.

I would have a couple of horses, cows and some goats. I would make sure my husbands son could get his dream land too and put his daughter through college. But...I would give it all back to have my husband healthy again.
