What does it really mean to believe unto Salvation

Greetings in the name of Christ our Lord and Savior

My friends this is a question that has been long in it's asking because it commands that we look very deeply within ourselves to find the answer. Once again it is something that cannot be judged by another person, but only by the personal comittment we have to what God has asked of us.

We need to reason together for a while on this because it is too easily looked over. The answer to this question may hold a key for many as to why they struggle so much with their Christian lives, and why it is they seem to fail at every turn, but more so than that is the question that comes up to our own understanding of what Christ meant when He said " believe on me and you will be saved"

Just as in many things in this life there are different levels of comittment to things, and we find that we have been dealing quite a bit with what the definitions are for words like truth and honesty within our social structure over the last few years.

Even within our church organizations there is such a wide variety of definitions for these things that it becomes necessary for us to look more closely at the ideas that God had in the original intent of the word. The best way is to look at what His definition was of belief in something or someone.

What we find is that God was not only willing to give the most precious of things to a comittment to belief but the comittment ran on to the giving of blood and sacrifice of life to belief. I have to ask the question are we believing in Christ today in that mannor or is it a lip service to the concept of belief like " I want to be a part of somthing good therefore I will do what everyone else is doing" Is that true belief unto Salvation?

When Paul used the words " I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have comitted unto Him against that Day" what was it he really meant? Was he saying that I have come to the place where I can truely believe what God has told me because I have proven it's valid in my life? The question comes to my mind often if I have tested my belief enough to say I would give my life at any second for Christ and that belief...what about you? I would like to get your feed back about this if you would be so kind.

May you richly bless God through your life in Him;

The Unworthy Servant ;)

Unworthy Servant,

I think it can all be summed up by Paul's words (Romans 10:8-13): "But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.""

If you believe that Jesus is alive through God's power, though he was executed at the hands of men, and make a confession to that belief, then Paul states that you are saved. I think that that gift of salvation and of eternal life is what keeps the perspective for me. The fact that God would show so much love for me is mind-boggling, and the only thing I can think to do in return is what he asks me - to believe in His Son.

God Bless you Jeff..it is time that we all started to take a stand and speak forth for Christ

Thank you my friend; it is that kind of response that I am looking for in the questions I ask. It is one thing for us to believe and another to put our belief out there for others to see. Just as Christians of the early church had to believce unto death it is time past that the Bride of Christ began to state it's undying beleif in Christ. There is something that is freeing about making a statement of our beliefs in Jesus, and in commiting ourselves unto Him with out being asked to that snactifies us and sets us asside from the rest of the world just by the Spirit and fruit of the Spirit that we bear.

I am so thankful and proud of all of you who have been a part of that process for many years , and I thank you for your prayers and support for all of the other christians who come to you for answeres in the Spirit. May you continue to richly bless God through your life in Him;

The Unworthy Servant :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
