Question About YouTube

I read something recently (here) that linking to youtube is not allowed. Are those types of rules in a thread somewhere?

I watch YouTube and so does my daughter, we keep our searches clean and so we don't run into garbage on there.

I see no reason why we can't post them, in fact, some people have links to Youtube in their signatures.

Well, those are the rules, and if my memory serves me right we had to agree to the rules of the administrators before becoming a member here.

I do understand what you are saying about YouTube. There are some very good, clean links on YouTube, however if you agreed when you signed up then why complain now? NO offense intended; just trying to make a point.

I don't see anything in the TOS, that's why I'm curious.

We discourage links to YouTube mainly because there is content on that site that is contrary to our purpose here. This would fall under the TOS rule of linking to non-Christian sites.

You may be able to restrict your searches on YouTube, but when you link to a video the restrictions do not go along with it. So pretty much anything can pop up in the ads and in the related videos. It can be very distracting and a a source of stumbling for the weaker members of the Body, so we decided to just disallow them altogether.

I respect WB's decision on this.

There's plenty of great Christian content, animation, concerts, etc. on YT, but people can often post offensive comments, which is a drag.

Hey people, am new to this board, still feeling my way around. But check out Godtube. Pretty neat, some Christian and biblical stuff like YT.

Understood & agree. It annoys me some of the stuff that is presented to me as "related" when I watch something on yt.
