I have the understanding that devout Muslims do not believe a personal relationship with God is possible. "But in the orthodox understanding of Islam, no human truly develops a personal relationship with Allah. This God exists far above His creations, judging, but also leading, humankind. Allah is never called 'Father.' " RE: Islam, Allah and Prayer by Helene Ciaravino So I still believe that is the key. A true believer has a personal relationship with God unlike all others who do not.

I agree with PA, the arguments about Jesus being Saviour are great theologically, but it's not me I need to convince. And since there was a bit about Buddhism mentioned, I'll clear up why I didn't mention it. I don't consider Buddhism to be a religion. It is a philosophy about how to live and isn't entirely wrong. Concepts such as a middle way (that is, give what you can, but don't give so much that it kills you because then you are useless) arn't so bad. After all, if I give away everything I ever earn and then die of starvation, I'm not going to be able to help God while dead. God Bless, Keilan

One of his students asked Buddha, "Are you the messiah?" "No", answered Buddha. "Then are you a healer?" "No", Buddha replied. "Then are you a teacher?" the student persisted. "No, I am not a teacher." "Then what are you?" asked the student, exasperated. "I am awake", Buddha replied.

You're right, keilanS, it probably won't convince them. But it just might give them something to think about.
