speaking in other tongues

um another topic i have been thinking about alot recently, i had nevere really thought about this much at all until about a year and a half ago when while at a youth confrence i for the first time saw someone experiance the gift of speaking in tounges, and even after seeing that i was still very sceptical about it, i thought that some people were just speaking in jibberish to get attention, since then i have witnessed several other speaking in tounges and noticed how it affects them and have accepted that is it a git of the holy spirit

about a month ago i was talking to one of my teachers, who is a very devoted christian and this shows through everything she does, about talking in tounges and she just confused me even more, she was telling me that it is something that you need to learn to do... that goes against everything i had though about speaking on tounges but as i know and have heard her speaking in tounges on serval occasions she is propbebly a good information source on this.

i would appreciate your views, is it just simply a gift or is it something you need to learn how to do ?

In my experience quoted above Neither my wife nor myself had to "Learn how to do it" it it just was.

your teacher evidently shows a lot of fruit. this is not something that is learned.( tongues that is...its a free gift) The day of pentecost is a example. Noone taught hannah. Some do sound like baby talk... some come on strong and it depends on how much surrendering is done. Some people get scared and quench it when it happens. I have only heard tongues spoken maybe five or six times that was not of The Holy Spirit....Believe me You will know it when it happens, Your hair stand up on ends but more like a cat who has been rubbed the wrong way. We are not to jump into anything we feel uncomfortable about. Let no man lay hands on you suddenly . satan is a great mocker as well. Do not be afraid though And yes some christians go with the flow, not to be looked at differently.. some people get "shashashasha" some " yahyahyah" some people start of with" lalalalala" and then the dams bust open. think of a trickle of water rise up slowly from deep within you that becomes a brook, then a river and so on. Like I had said. I got anointed while singing a praise song unto the Lord Jesus and makina a cup of tea. There are people to pray and guide you if ones flow keeps getting stuffed up.

Remeber not every person is on the same grade level andsome know more than others...it doesn't mean not to listen to her anymore Theer are churches who DO teachings on Gifts of the Holy Spirit. After going through the course they will pray that your gifts would manifest and be reavealed.....ALWAYS IN JESUS NAME....REMEBER
