 I read your post, I had a problem with ants, and I went to wal-mart and got this stuff called Torro, it comes in this bottle, it is clear and it has tabs that you will put the liquid on it. Put it behind things on your counter like cookie jars, or where there is a line of them, they will eat it up and take it back to the queen ant, I guarantee it works. we use it every spring and summer. You can buy it at wal-mart at the garden center or you can get it at Ace Hardware, or what hardware store you have. Please let me know if it worked for you YSIC Littlelite

There are some chemicals that you can put putside the house. Most stores sell ant bait in gel form and you stick in the crack were they come in and they it and they get killed. Also take note if you have trees close to the house you may wish trim them back about 6 inches from the house. also move any wood from right next to house to about a couple feet away from the house.

Shalom,

We have used boric acid before and it seemed to work. We sprinkled it at the doorways and window panes and around where we have seen them.

You can also use Borax, cornmeal, grits or perfumes.

Squashed ants smelling like pine  Never heard that one before. I've done the coffee grounds and also bay leaves and both worked well.

We had carpenter ants last year that were a huge problem. Our land lord hired an exterminator to spray the house. He said that he used the same exterminator years ago for an ant problem, and it had lasted 10 years. Well after two months of vaccumning dead ants, they were gone...............one year later, I saw one... mind you one, on the kichen floor. Upon looking at the various entry points of last year, no evidence how this one lone stalker came inside. I am not fond of chemical insectacides, so I too, will look at others useful advice.
