not to beat a dead horse, but... in the senate hearing, viacom's president said 'we can be proud of 99% of that show. what a difference one percent can make".

now i didn't watch it myself, but i've since heard about the songs sang by the various articles, almost all promoting sex and drugs.

what 99% can they be proud of?

yes, it is a good start. but as i understand it, they are doing this 'in light of the current controversial climate'. i wonder if they will continue airing them late nights once the controversy has calmed down?

still, you didn't answer the burning question LOL... what was acceptable about the other 99% of the show? what was there to be proud of?

i didn't see it either, but i read reports that p.diddy sang about drugs (i'm half-man, half-drugs), and that kid rock sang about "crotch watching".

i remember when MTV first aired. i prefer rock and roll too, but i always thought that mtv played harder rock than i cared to listen to. never did like them. but i can sympathize with you. i used to love VH1. it was classic rock of a mellower sort. it had behind the music features that depicted the often tragic stories of rock stars. now VH1 focuses on that stuff that i also call rap-crap, and the other day their behind the music show featured mike tyson!!! MUSIC???? give me a break. now they have VH1 classic. i thought i'd give that a try. guess what? it still features rap-crap and the bubblegum-chewing-teenie-bopper-pop artists.

nowhere to turn for good music anymore. why don't they have a CH1... christian hits? now that would be worth watching.

Personally, I would LOVE to see a classic country television station. There is such a wealth of old country shows out there like Hee-Haw, Buck Owens Ranch, old Grand Ole Opry shows, etc. Mix that in with older videos from 15-20 years ago (and further back if they exist) and it would be a good thing IMHO!

I have an old Dish 3000 (even they call it ancient!) receiver for my Dish Network system. They block access to Playboy, etc., but to lock stuff is such a headache! I pretty well know what channels I watch anyway, so not a big deal I suppose!
