A very brilliant man came up with the idea of a prayer thread for the peace of Jerusalem in another forum. I thought - well, why not have a prayer thread for the issues of this war?

Rules:

Only post prayers.

Do not post debates and rebuttals, just prayers.

Do not preach with your prayers. Just intercede before the Throne of Grace.

Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, You who hold the world in the palm of Your hand,

I lift before You this whole mess that has been going on. Lord, You know the end from the beginning. You know the hearts of men. I ask for Your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done in, through, around, and in spite of the plans of men that have turned peoples against each other.

I ask for Your wisdom in how to pray for this land, and that of Afganistan, and that of Iraq, and any other nation and groups of people that are and will be involved in the days to come.

Be glorified, we pray!

We lift up all that is going on as America continues to fight terrorism. Father I ask you to give wisdom to President Bush and to his administration. I pray that sober and Godly decisions will be made.

Father, I ask you to watch over and protect the Armed Forces of the United States and those of other countries who following their orders. Protect them from harm and seem them home safely to their loved ones. Give them wisdom to make the hard decisions and to stay sharp in the midst of what appears to be chaos.

Father thwart the evil aspirations of the terrorists who seek to undermine a free and democratic nation of Iraq. Thwart their attempts to harm innocent Iraqis, and the soldiers.

I lift up the Iraqi people to you Lord. Please, open up avenues for the gospel to reach more Iraqis, and shine into their hearts the glory of God as it is revealed in the person of Yeshua/Jesus. Wrap your arms around them and protect them Lord. Bring good ministers and faithful servants to them who you have called for this purpose and at this hour.

Father I pray that you bring all of this to a swift end and that Iraq can finally enjoy a life of peace without the threat of torture and tyranny. Bring to them the peace that can only be delivered by the Prince of Peace.

Abba El, Papa God:

Today I just ask you to make your presence known in Iraq. I ask you to be with all those missionaries who you have sent to minister to the poor and that you cause their ministries to bear precious fruit for the Kingdom God. I pray that today, even now, that Iraqis are coming to a saving knowledge of Yeshua/Jesus. I pray that their hearts are softened and prepared as fertile ground for the seed of the gospel. I ask that you thwar any attempts by the enemy to prevent the gospel from reaching these needy souls.

O Lord, fill Iraq today with your spirit. Break the spiritual strongholds that have imprisoned this people for centuries. Give your ministers the words to say that will turn many towards Christ. Show these people that you love them and that each of them is precious in your eyes.

Thank you Yeshua for doing all of this.

May Your kingdom come to earth and Your will be done here as it is in heaven. Give us our daily physical needs and forgive us for our many sins. In gratitude for your forgiveness we understand the obligation to forgive those who have done hurtful things against us.

Protect us from more temptation than we can bear...you know how weak we can be....and keep us from the enemy who would destroy us if we succumb to that temptation.

for this Kingdom and all it's glory belong to You. May we be witnesses of that eternal truth in our lives....today and always....be glorified in Your children.

Help us to love each other as You have loved us. Help us to see every person as someone You gave the ultimate sacrifice for.

We pray there would never be another war even as wicked men surround us with evil intent.

Father, I ask special protection today for all of the armed forces today who are serving in Iraq. I ask that you give them direction, and a special ability to make the tough decisions in stressful, and dangerous situations. I ask that you watch over their families, and that you allow them to return home safely.

I ask this not only for the ones serving in Iraq, but also in Afghanistan as well. Watch over them and protect them as they carry out their duties, and make the world a safer place. Make your presence known to these men and women. Guide, watch over, and protect them, 'till they make it home.

I also pray for the gospel of Yeshua to cover Iraq from one end, to the other. Father, bring healing, hope, and prosperity to the people of Iraq. Bring these things to them in such a way, that they will know without a doubt that it was you made it possible. Thank you that you are already working in that nation to bring them to salvation. May we each be extensions of your hands, and an evangelistic arm to reach the world for you.
