A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth's view of the Sun. This configuration can only occur during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth. No unusual significance whatsoever. It happens with every eclipse. Guest
it's not what happens in the celestial sphere that's going to cause the coming of our Lord, it's the coming of the Lord that's going to shake up things in the galaxies., or the heavenlies if you prefer, After all God created the whole universe not just the earth. I believe what God said, not a bunch of astrnomers. Amen!

Guest
How did the Wise Men from the East know that a king had been born in Israel? Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.Matther 2:2 PS: Could It Be Old Brother Danial And Company Spilt The Beans And These Fellows Read The Hebrew Scriptures And Looked Up? You can't have a solar eclipse without a new moon. This is REAL basic astronomy. A new moon means that the moon is between us and the sun, in a line. An eclipse means that the three bodies are almost EXACLTY in a row. Nothing more. EDIT: Oh, should read the thread first, I see that the question was answered twice already. Ditto on the "it's OK." I've found myself having to repeat the same information over and over again on different threads concerning the same astronomical explanations on more than one occassion - so multiple answers from others on the same thread is kind of nice to see. I still find it amazing that several people the Moon can only be seen at night.
