I do agree that the United States has become a pretty sinful place. Just looking at it objectively one would have to say it is moving toward a Sodom and Gomorrah type culture. So why are we materially blessed in such a great way compared to other countries? My point is that I don't believe we have insight into how God exactly blesses and removes blessings from nations, we are also obsessed with material things, and maybe His blessings are non-material? The poorest country in the world is a sad little island a couple of hundred miles from the US coast, what did they do to deserve God's wrath? Why are they not blessed as we are? To me, lots of data supports that possibility. Our Revolutionary war seems to me to support Romans 13:1 and USA's "damnation" {Civil War, locust plagues in the late 1800s, inventing of evil things-atomic bomb...,abortion(1973)-to me state sanctioned/state supported/state protected murder of the unborn-an abomination/hated by The LORD.}. Latest weapon that may be deployed next year in "Iraqi Freedom"-that heat ray "gun" for crowd control-"who is able to make war with the beast"?.....Lots, lots more. America must decrease in power and influence both militarily and economically around the world so that the EU can become what the bible says it will become. The bottom line here is that America is going to pay the price for taking God out of our country and passing laws that legalize iniquity. IE Lawlessness of God's Laws. I agree with you Massorite. Not to mention the strong ties the EU already has on our economics. Have you seen these? Take a cruise around this site. My response was just from an observational viewpoint. Everything is pointing to the uprising of a different superpower, and it looks to be forming in the EU. The EU is not spicifically name but the discription of the nation that is the EU along with other prophetic scripture is discribed in ch. 17 of the book of Revelation.
