Gen 9:3-6 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herb. But you shall not eat of flesh with the life in it, or the blood of it. and surely the blood of your lives will I require. At the hand of every animal will I require it, and at the hand of man. At the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood shall be shed by man; for He made man in the image of God. Does this not, again, creative a God that would need to be deceptive? As a perfect example, if animals only ate plants, why would snakes need venom and fangs to inject it? Again the Bible answers this question, that we live in an imperfect world due to sin. A restored millennial kingdom, the snakes will not have fangs anymore: Isa 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea. Did they change after the fall, because before the fall they didn't need to fight off other animals? Are you talking about claws and fangs? I can think of a thousand and one uses for claws other than fighting. Think of the many ways we use knives and forks. Fangs are just teeth. They're for eating. Someone mentioned snake venom. It's known to be a digestive aid for them. Anyway, the uses one finds for certain things in nature depends a lot upon one's presuppositions. If one supposed that something like snake venom was primarily created to paralyze a victim, he would find little incentive to investigate other uses that are of benefit to the snake.
