Well, of course Russia has always been a backer of Iran. This represents a worrying development, in my view. It brings to mind the arrogant attitude of Saddam Insane just before the start of Gulf War I. These 'games' of brinkmanship......if that is what they are.....could quite easily escalate into something altogether more serious, given the current climate in the middle east at this time. People are playing with fire.

One of the problems is in deciding who 'them' are. In a report by the U.S. Navy,: "The United States has long said it believes the IRGC is behind those arms shipments, but it has stopped short of saying the central government of Iran is responsible for those actions." It seems quite possible that internal dissent within Iran, which is rather what US foreign policy is promoting, might be behind this episode and the reason why the US navy did not react earlier than they otherwise might and probably would have done in similar circumstances, had they thought the regular Iranian navy was involved. Still very dangerous, of course, but probably correctly assessed by the commanders responsible for the situation at the time. A very difficult position for US navy commanders to be in, balancing politics with the right of self defence, but one for which they are well trained and for which they should be highly admired. After all, kicking over Saddam's sand castle was easy, and while Iran is bigger and a lot easier to defend, it'd be the extremists and guerrillas that made it costly after the regular military had fallen. It'd be an ugly war, and one I hope our own government would have sense enough to keep us out of. Iran stopped being our business when we pulled out of the middle east and let the Arabs have it back. You got that right!!! Well........I like to keep things simple....(being the simple fellow that I am ) And in my simple understanding of Bible prophecy............. Iran (Persia), will be one of several nations that will 'come against Israel' in the end times. With the result that Iran will be 'laid waste'.
