I visit the USGS site frequantly..lots of shakers everyday and everywhere....previoulsy someone wanted to sugest that the frequancy is increasing. I have been following quakers for several years, just a personal interest, and cannot say I'm noticing an increase in frequancy.

There are earthquakes happening every day all through the day. I think (just my opinion) what we should watch for is news worthy, intense earthquakes 7.0 and up in diverse places.

You can sign up on the USGS site to receive earthquake notification. So far in the month of January I have received over 270 earthquakes over 3.0 in magnitude. It is interesting to watch the magnitude and also the location. I type them into a spreadsheet so that I can keep track easier.

The USGS site also has earthquake history and such. It is an interesting site to look around.

see you're not alone in looking at these...several here have shown their interest in the activity. On aprox Dec 20 I saw a report that had nearly 100 quakes recorded and quite a few of them were noteworthy. :emot-hug:

My Dad worked in a power station while I was growing up. In the station they had a seismogram to measure quake activity. It was able to measure the smallest tremor to the largest. I was astounded that tremors happen continuously. It's the size not the amount that was important to the station.
