WE CAN BECOME OBEDIENT...through the weapons God has given us!

2 Corinthians 10:3-6

"For though we walk in the flesh, WE DO NOT war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) CASTING DOWN imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity EVERY thought TO THE OBEDIENCE of Christ: AND having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when YOUR obedience is fulfilled."

What does this say? "YOU mean we can CAST DOWN images placed in our mind by lying spirits...And we can bring our thought life into agreement with God's thought's, no longer "entertaining" thoughts that bring us into fear,and unforgiving, or revenge, or bitterness, worry, anxiety, or anger?" YES!!! Anything that comes into our mind which is the realm of the flesh that the enemy wants to control, CAN be defeated. AND when we have learned to submit our self will to God's will, and when GOD knows our heart condition that we have love and compassion IN us that is flowing out to others...then we will have revenge on disobedience.

WE ARE IN A SPIRITUAL BATTLE...NOT A BATTLE IN THE FLESH WITH WEAPONS AS MAN HAS TO USE WHEN FIGHTING AN EARTHLY WAR. OUR WAR IS IN THE SPIRIT...AND ONLY SPIRITUAL WEAPONS CAN PREVAIL!

Today as I read these verses I suddenly saw something I'd never seen..."WHEN our obedience IS fulfilled," doesn't that mean we have learned to OBEY GOD...and we are from our heart LOVING GOD as HE commands, and loving ourselves which allows us to LOVE our neighbor since those are the TWO commandments Jesus left us to fulfill? So this would mean there is a time when we will be in obedience to God. And when that happens...we will have learned we must DIE DAILY to our flesh, not listening to "its" cries...but listening to our spirit/conscience. And our spirit/heart/conscience is being taught each day by The Holy Spirit, how to live Godly IN Christ Jesus. Daily our OLD mind and sin nature is changing...we don't think as we once did...and we are becoming obedient to God's will, HIS way, HIS thoughts. WE BRING our thought life INTO obedience...we make the flesh life captive to God's way to think. WE are no longer in bondage to satan's hold on our flesh through the realm of our mind, and we have revenge ON those spirits that once caused us to walk in disobedience.

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore if any man be IN Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold ALL things are become new!"

We have a brand new nature contained in our brand new heart...and it is God's INDWELLING Holy Spirit given to us when we become Born Again...who will teach us HOW to become that new person IN Christ Jesus, one day at a time! IT IS The Spirit of God who teaches us and interprets Scriptures so we know what God expects of us...and HE cleanses our body temple from sin living in our flesh. It takes time for us to learn to become "Christ-like!" We are clay...GOD IS The Potter, and HE will mold us into the image He knows we will become...a vessel to be USED by Him for HIS purpose! And all the time HE IS molding us...we are learning to bring our thoughts into obedience through Christ Jesus LIVING IN us!

Luke 10:19

"Behold I GIVE unto you, power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy: and NOTHING shall by any means hurt you."

Praise God for the power living IN those who are adopted into HIS family. As we grow to maturity in wisdom and understanding, more power from God is released INTO our spirit/heart...the goal is to become LIKE Christ was on earth, being obedient to God His Father, OUR Father! AND to walk in that same power that was IN Christ Jesus, which raised HIM from the dead, and seated Him at The Right Hand of The Father IN heaven! And remember, JESUS SAID..."Greater works than these things [i do] shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:12.

God bless us ALL as we daily learn to submit to God's will, bringing our thoughts captive to obedience to Christ Jesus.

Thank you JohnS for that wonderful, uplifting post. :t2: Sin starts in our minds and that's when we must tame it before it becomes an 'action' and we sin. And that is hard to do at times but I know it can be done when we call upon Christ's strength to help us. He has always helped me when I asked Him.

I'm seeing revival in the hearts of God's people. A mighty return to holiness. This is yet another message that the body of Christ so desperately needs.

Awesome Post JohnS! I am currently reading "Battlefield of the Mind", by Joyce Meyer and she says alot of that stuff in her book. We must bring our thought life under the blood of Jesus. The mind is the first place the devil will attack a believer! We must guard our thoughts! Thanks again! :t2:

I just started a new thread (before I seen this one, sorry) called, "I'm having one heck of a time..."

I wished I would have seen this one first. I know everything that you posted is the complete truth, but I sure need help and I have no idea what to do. Could you go over and read about my problem and offer any advice if you have any?

To all:I enjoyed these posts, they are helpful. I also have Joyce Meyers book. And Jesus tells me to read the Word. I rededicated my life 5/04 to Jesus but am dealing with evil spirits or ?. It is a liar and deceiver and manipulator and it twists and turns with it ideas. Will you pray for me and help me to apply these scriptural truths to my mind and life.In Christs name, :rofl: Barb

thank you so much for that john it could not have come at a better time. Today i awoke after having a very sinful dream. when i awoke i was very very angry at myself for allowing this dream and very very angry with the devil for putting it there. I could not understand why this had happined to me. I was told that the devil would try and attack me and to sway my new found faith in God. So i prayed for fogivness of the dream and asked the lord to protect my mind. I went to the chat room and bro chuck spoke with me and put my mind at ease that in fact i did not sin that satan was just attacking me. I felt somewhat better but was not real comfortable of the thought of another attack. So i started searching the message boards and came accross this. I feel i have the weapons to defeat my enemy now through the power of jesus and i know that i am protected by the grace of his blood. I know what my next study topic will be for tonight too lol. thank you again so much John. ((((((((John))))))))

      You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
