Hello All,

I have only been visiting this board for about a week now, but after reading many, many posts, I feel that I can open up to you all.

I recently started a thread called, "Have you ever felt this way?" I got a lot of nice responses and was educated in the process. Thank you Cats!

Anyway, here I am posting about "birth pangs" and the coming rapture, but I just can't seem to get myself together.

I am a very young Christian, so I do not expect my sinful nature to be completely removed overnight, nor do I expect my spiritual battles to be over once and for all.

However, I am having a lot of trouble with my temper (i.e. road rage).

Quite honestly, I'm scared to death. I know our Precious Lord is coming soon and just when I feel that I've overcome one problem (a mountain), there's another on the horzion waiting for me.

But there is one mountain I cannot seem to overcome, my temper.

Today I was in a Walmart parking lot (need I say more?) and of course people are fighting for parking spots, or just fighting to be fighting. Well, there was a lady that seemed to be intentually holding up traffic (she pulls out of her parking space, only to SIT there looking through her backseat) and the next thing I know, I'm saying (yelling) things that would cause a Sailor to blush!

I am so ahamed of myself. I have prayed and prayed for the Lord to take this anger from my heart and help me to hold my tongue, but there hasn't been too much improvement.

I'm not blaming the Lord. I know that I must learn self-restraint and continue to pray to be delivered from this. I'm getting so upset with myself, that I even hate to repent for it anymore.

I feel like I'm slapping the Lord in the face everytime I repent and then go right back and do it all over again.

I do not know what to do to help myself. I'm not really asking for advice (but I'm all in favor of it, if someone can relate), but I just needed to vent. I hate letting the Lord and myself down all the time. I just feel like crying.

God Bless You All..Thanks for listening,

Diane

The things that you say is a result of what's in your heart, so you must pray that he continue to change your heart. That's where the evilness starts. If you concentrate on just controlling your tongue, then even though you may be surpressing your tongue, your heart is still in it's same sinful condition.

I too had/have a temper problem but different things eat at me. The Lord has been slowly changing my heart after much prayer and self awareness of actions.

You must also pray for love - especially loving those who do you wrong.

Jesus4me40,

I totally understand where you are coming from. I used to have a real problem with my temper, especially with road rage. I will tell you what helped me and I can honestly say that I have not gotten road rage for about 6 months.

I put in praise and worship CD's, usually Hillsong, but the group doesn't matter. You need to listen to anything that will take your mind off of the traffic or inconsiderate people and put it on God. I just start singing to God and then next thing I know I am at work.

Now as far as the situation with the woman at Walmart, boy can I relate! I used to get so angry because people were so selfish! I heard one time from a preacher that we should not get mad at the particular person, but at the devil. The devil is in control of that person, so next time don't yell at the person, yell at the devil. You might look crazy, but it is better than sinning! Sometimes I am driving down the street yelling at the devil! He he! I hope this helps!

You know what? I have not even considered my "heart" being the cause. You are so right. That unless I pray for a change of heart, I will continue to have this problem.

Well, that certainly sheds a new light on everything, doesn't it? Thank you so much for pointing that out to me.

Called: You too have given me a great idea. I know in my heart the devil is behind it all, but I get myself so fired up that I forget to expect the attacks. I tell ya, I can't wait until I'm just a little more mature in Christ. I know I will always continue to mature and I pray that I do.

However, it will be nice when the day comes when I'm not sweating the small stuff.

Thank you both, so very much!

Hi Diane,

Like the rain that falls to the earth below

Watering the seed to grow

So it is with Your precious word, O Lord

It won't return until I know that

You're everywhere

Like the wind that blows noone really knows

From where it comes or where it goes

So it is with Your Holy Spirit, Lord

Falling down on us to show that

You're everywhere

My Lord, now I truly know

That I could never go from Your presence

My God, You are everywhere

From the lowest depths to the heavens

You're always there

Like the rain that's falling

Like the wind that's blowing

Like the sun upon my face

I feel the warmth in Your embrace

You are everywhere

He's always there, even in your car. Practice His presence.

Moments together for Couples.....by Dennis and Barbara Rainey

May 29.....

***************WHY YOU NEED THE SPIRIT***************

And be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. Eph 5:21

I find it revealing that Paul discusses the Holy Spirit (see Eph 5:18-21) just before moving into a practical discussion of family relationships.(5:22-6:4) Obviously a clear result of being "filled with the Spirit" is to have a submissive spirit. Men and women are to submit to each other and to serve each other's needs.

Each of us needs to defeat selfishness. On more than one occasion I have a desire to be angry at Barbara. Yet, at the same time, I realize that my life is a temple of God, that the Holy spirit lives in me with the same power that riased Christ from the dead. The Spirit helps me control my temper, impatience and my desire to say things I would later regret.

In marriages, there is to be mutual submission where a woman yields to the leadership of a man who denies himself in order to love his wife as Christ loved the Church. What a mystery that is! He is still the leader, but he submits his life to his mate.

In this type of situation, the woman's responsibility of "submission" takes on an entirely new meaning. Any husband who is living out Paul's instructions here in Eph could never treat his wife as a second class citizen or with chauvinist disregard for her needs and feelings. That is the farthest thing from Paul's and Gods mind..

As you ask God to empower you with the Holy Spirit, His fruit will become a growing, increasing part of your life...And as the God of peace and harmony fills your hearts and takes up residency in you, you will experience the oneness and intimacy only He can provide......

isnt that cool ;) :il: :D

:il: Jesus4me,

If you get stressed in parking lot situations...believe me I used to also...but now I go for the spots no one else wants...ya know the ones farthest from the store :oww: That way no one is rushing for the "good ones". Walking is good for you and until you feel that you have had a change in your heart it might be best to avoid getting a good spot for a while. While driving I think the advice of worship music is great ;)

Love and Blessings,

Angel

James 1:21

says to humbly accept the word planted in you which can save you.

So, here's a word to plant and memorize to help you in time of temper:

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

James 3:9-11

In His Love,

What an excellent verse. I'm going to write that down and paste it all over my dashboard! I'm serious. ;)

I thank all of you for the suggestions. They are all excellent.

I guess I look at some of the people around me (my niece for one) and she seems to really have it together (her relationship with the Lord), nor does she have my temper.

So I wonder, "If she can "walk the walk and talk the talk", why is it so difficult for me?

I know she must have problems areas in her life as well, but I just don't see it. I want so much to please the Lord, but more often than not..I feel as though I'm drowning in sin. I guess I'm just having myself a pity party tonight. I'm sorry all.

Well, I guess the only thing to do is, pick up my cross once more, brush it off and continue my walk.

Lord PLEASE come quickly!

:prayer

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
