No it is not, but planning ahead is not the same thing as worry. To know you are not going to be able to work forever and not set something aside to live off of in your olden days (if you have olden days) is just plain stupid........ that's not using your common sense.

Anyone who is not concerned with the things happening today is just plain stupid, or don't understand what is happening.....

Was Jesus worried when he was in the Garden sweating blood the night before his tribulation?????? Did He not ask the Father to remove this from Him if possible.

I wonder if you were 62 if you would have the same thought process....

Well, then I have to thank you for my new title, Stupid! I am 55 and have been having financial troubles for a few years since I was laid off when the company I had been working for. It was purchased by a larger company and they did away with the IT department. Since then, I have been able to work here and there for about half the pay. I was forced to turn in my 401K plan to make ends meet last year. Neither do I have anything to fall back on as far as finances go. Yet, through all this, I worry not, for I know the Lord will provide.

So, my friend, if I take His word seriously and am labeled Stupid for doing so, I wear the label proudly!

God Bless and I do pray that you prosper the rest of your life.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Not even $700 billion will be enough to spare the United States from more economic anguish if the government's proposed banking bailout pans out like similar desperation moves during the past two decades.

True...except without the bailout plan, I believe we'd suffer something much more severe than what we suffered in the late 80's with the Savings & Loan debacle. We'd see the stockmarket really crash (with the DOW below 8,000 points)...and the world economy significantly affected. I don't like it but we really have no choice than to proceed with the bailout plan.

Brother, no one is calling you stupid and saying that you didn't plan well. Things happen...I agree. We have nothing to FEAR but God! Amen! BUT what other one is saying, which I agree with, is that being prepared is not the same as worry. There is nothing wrong with planning and being prepared for the future. We just need to also be prepared if nothing turns out according to our plan. :emot-hug: There is a time for everything and it is through these times that God seals eternity in our hearts. [Ecc 3]

As it sometimes goes Brother, I read what other one posted different then how you read it, as he misread my first post, thinking I may of been implying that one should not plan for the future. In my first post, I was speaking of the love of money that has become so prevalent in today's society and how faith is lacking through out the world pertaining to the fact that the Lord will supply our needs. On both parts, neither were well written in a manner that would remove any doubt to what the message meant.

I hold no hard feelings, nor was I offended. I wrote what I did in a way to say that, if in case that was what he was saying, then I would proudly wear the title.

All's well here! :emot-hug:

God Bless,

bro,

I hate to be a pessimist but I have a feeling that this is not going to stop the mortal hemorrhaging that we are now seeing. :emot-hug: It's even beginning to affect Europe. I think we are seeing a sea change in the way that this Nation and the world will proceed forward.

I believe this is an ill advised effort and at this point is all Political.

Peace,

Dave

I believe this is an ill advised effort and at this point is all Political.

What isn't political? :):)

Many pundits said the same of Roosevelt's New Deal but it saved a nation. Unfortunately we're still burdened with some the programs even today, such as the TVA, and scholars still debate its merits. Regardless, the series of programs implemented by President Roosevelt brought about balance and restoration to a failed economy. Were all the programs good? Not by a long shot but as we so often say, why throw out the baby with the bath water?

The DOW is already down over 500 points. If this bill doesn't pass (once it gets cleaned up), expect a catastrophic drop later this week. The DOW will fall back to 8,000 erasing over ten years of economic growth.

Sadly, the bill has been defeated due to partisan politics. My feeling is that it should have been. :)

Our economy has always had world-wide repercussions. And they've always scorned us for it.

what happened in 1929? what did the government do then? and how long did it take for the country to recoup?

.....but it did.

There is a huge difference beetween now and 1929. More than half of the nations banks failed and the market took a much larger percentage hit than it did now.

I can understand where both of you are coming from. But I was thinking about what Jesus said

Mat 6:26

Look at the birds in the sky. They don't plant or harvest or gather food into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are more valuable than they are, aren't you?

Maybe it is all the Garbage we are surrounded with (commercialism). Maybe we were met to live a simpler life, but told different by the world?

Yes, we will not be young all of our lives............so do your best to prepare for this.......But, we are called not to worried.......I believe nothing will happen to us unless God wants it to happen.

Either way .....I choose to praise the name of the LORD!!!
