This outright lie goes unchallenged by media around the world. Strangely, most of the Arab population of Jerusalem refused to vote in the election for the city's mayor last week, thereby depriving themselves of a more effective voice in city affairs. Instead, they pretended that they are not citizens. Yet, when Israel made moves recently to give part of Jerusalem to the "Palestinian Authority," thousands of the people living in East Jerusalem rushed to the Israeli Ministry of Interior to request a change from "residents" to full fledged citizens.
