  1. Amen , and I'll just add that at sixteen you shouldn't be looking for somewhere else to live as was suggested by another poster as an alternative. God Bless. Nigel.

  2. In the Gospel of Matthew,Jesus says: "Anyone who is not with Me is against Me, and anyone who does not gather with Me scatters. 31 Because of this, I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against9 the Spirit will not be forgiven.10 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come." what is meant by "in this age or in the one to come" ? Does this mean that people who actively reject Christianity and even encourage others to do so,lose the possibility of being saved forever? Does "The age to come" mean our present age?

  3. Those who stand for sin and against scripture are not true Christians, only Christian by name. His church is still solid in their beliefs and are not swaying like grass in the wind.

  4. Being 16 or even 21 is only part of being an adult. It is not the whole picture. Your attitude towards how you think, dress, and conduct yourself concerning others is the rest of the picture. Life is not about you alone and what you, yourself want. It's about those around you. You might be thinking, “when I turn 18, I will be able to do as I please”. But here's the rub katy, . . . there will always be someone in authority and telling you what to do your whole life. Your aunt isn't doing this to make your life miserable She's trying to help you and point you in the right directions, so that you will be able to make good sensible and sound decisions that will not only keep you safe through out life, but help you do well in the workplace and so on. You will need good manners and proper dress when you enter the work force. If your vocabulary is laced with yah, nah, nope, yup, uhhh, ummm, dude, homey and so on. A prospective employer is not going to take you seriously. And it is not just employer's, its customers as well. Disrespectful conduct and immodest dress, tells others around you, that you do not care about others; are not a responsible adult and it leaves a big question mark in their minds whether they should trust you with responsibilities. ________________________________________________________________________________ If you and I meet, and you forget me, you have lost nothing. But, if you meet Jesus, and you forget him, you have lost everything.

  5. I agree with most of that, except for the "good intentions" part. I think if people aren't Christian, they are self serving and everything they do is to promote their own interests, good intentions is a con job, and is used to get others to buy into their ideas. I'm having a pretty heated disqus conversation with a self described "intellectualist" yet all this person seems to be posting is anti-religion bigotry and is trying to lump all religions into one bucket. For instance, this person is blaming all theists for the taliban attack on the school today.

  6. Yes,it seems to me that "blasphemy against the holy spirit" is a phrase that is only used to refer to the false accusations of the Jews at the time of the ministry of Jesus.

  7. Blasephemy of the Holy Spirit...The Unforgivable sin is very specific... It is saying that the work of the Holy Spirit is the work of the devil Mark 3 20 Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” 22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.” 23 So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. 27 No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house. The Unpardonable Sin 28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— 30 because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.” Redemption is available to all, no matter how evil, until their last breath. Paul killed Christians before He came to Jesus, and we know what He became

  8. There are some people who engage in very blasphemous conversations and speeches, prior to being saved. I was wondering if any of that blasphemous talk can have an eternal effect...

  9. This age and the age to come are expressions used by the Hebrew people during the time of Jesus and after. This age means 'now', and the age to come would mean when the Messiah comes to rule from Jerusalem. The age to come in Christianity would be called the Millenium or the millenial reign. During the Millenium, there will be people who do not believe in Jesus. In my view, scripture speaks of only one unforgivable sin. Jesus died for all of our sins, but one. The one and only sin I believe will prevent a person from being saved is unbelief in Jesus. It is the Holy Spirits job to reveal Who Jesus is, so to say Jesus is not the Messiah, Savior when the Holy Spirit is revealing that truth, is essentially saying, the Holy Spirit is lying. Or to say there are more ways to God then thru Jesus alone, when the Holy Spirit is revealing to a person that Jesus is the only way, would be saying the Holy Spirit is lying.

  10. you have to have repented of your sins and put your faith In Jesus Christ-mormons don't believe that Jesus is God, hence they cant put their faith in Him.

  12. I believe you katy, and the rules change where your at, but the basic rule of thumb is just that, it changes where your at. If where your at wants yes sir or yes maam that means do that! if it doesnt it doesnt. If its considered polite to say yes maam and yes sir, and you dont, then you are being rude. Its as simple as that.

  13. some of it does depend on where you live, what is considered ok, and what is not. Obviously, your aunt-who is by your own admittance your elder and authority figure (you live with her, your a minor, your under her care) thinks its something you should do. And even in areas where its not required-no one is offended by saying yes maam, unless done so sarcastically. And it won't hurt you to follow her rules, its one extra word, and in reality, by lying to her (thats what your doing when you say you forgot and you didn't) your actually showing her disrespect. If you truly respect her-then you should have no problem adding ma'am to your yes. It won't hurt anything-take .02 seconds out of your day, and it will make her happy, and your life easier. I can't think of a single reason not to.

  14. Hi last Daze, Great topic & much needed. As has been said `beware of deception.` A big lie throughout the world & organised Christianity is `We can do it together - save the world,` etc, etc. I do like what the apostle Paul says to the believers at Thessalonica - `You are sons of light & sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch & be sober. .....For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other & edify one another, just as you also are doing.` (1 Thess. 5: 5 - 11) Comfort & edify each other, Marilyn.

  15. I look at things a bit differently. Since I am not guaranteed another minute of life, I believe I should always be ready to pass onto the next life. IF He chooses for me to live another day, it is a blessing to me. If not, it is also a blessing to me, so being ready is a constant thought of mine. If I happen to live to the day when we cannot buy or sell without the mark, I also have faith that God will provide, just as He provided the forty years in the desert for Moses and the Hebrews. We are just as much a child of God as they are.

  16. We have no choice but to live in this world until Jesus returns or we die. Some believe we go prior to most of the really bad things and then there are people as myself who just don't see the early flight but wait until he actually returns..... To me, "Be ready" means to be prepared to do either. While I do still hope for the early flight and try to keep myself prepared to take off at any time, I have also been preparing myself to stay if that's my lot. While I'm not into a lot of pain, I have decided that it is much better to loose your head than to die from prostate or lung cancer or any number of any other natural things... What it means to be ready for me is to understand that a great deception is coming and we should be very skeptical over everything that comes along while we are still here, and to be content in whatever comes along. I see no reason we should not participate in what goes on in the world as long as we don't get caught up in it in ways that it comes between us and the Lord. We have worked hard all our lives to set some back so as not to be any burden to others and we do things to enjoy ourselves off and on..... but we also help fund our church and others when times are needed and know full well that at any time all that we have done can be wiped away with one big disaster...... but to be ready is to simply accept it and go on with whatever comes. If I had the choice, my wife and I would simply go away to be with the Lord tonight.... but unfortunately I don't get to choose that time. but I don't have to be miserable while we wait....... no matter what comes along. If disaster comes our way instead of the good times we've worked so hard to set up and been enjoying........ Oh well, and that's" being ready". I think Paul said it best when he said, I can do all things through Him. I don't think he is saying that he can do or make anything happen, I think he is saying that he, through the power of the Holy Spirit, can get through anything. Take the mark or die...... Oh, that decision is already made..... and that's also "being ready".

  17. Matthew 25 25 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ 9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ 12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ 13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. Have you wicks trimmed (have your life in order) Have your Lamps filled (have your hearts full of the Holy Spirit and on the things of God) And watch for the coming.

  18. It actually means the Temple directly before it, or the glory of the two before it combined. There will certainly be a third Temple. There has to be a Temple for the Antichrist to defile as predicted in Daniel 11:31, Matthew 24:15-16, and 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
