  1. GOOD NEWS! 1: Romans 3:10 NLT As the Scriptures say, "No one is good- not even one. 2: Romans 3:23 NLT For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard. 3: Romans 5:12 NLT When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. 4: Romans 6:23 NLT For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. 5: Romans 1:18 NLT But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. 6: Romans 3:19-20 NLT Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses and to bring the entire world into judgment before God. 20 For no one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it. 7: Romans 3:27 NLT Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith. 8: Romans 5:8-9 NLT But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's judgment. 9: Romans 2:3-4 NLT Do you think that God will judge and condemn others for doing them and not judge you when you do them, too? 4 Don't you realize how kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Or don't you care? Can't you see how kind he has been in giving you time to turn from your sin? 10: Romans 3:19-22 NLT Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses and to bring the entire world into judgment before God. 20 For no one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it. 21 But now God has shown us a different way of being right in his sight-not by obeying the law but by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago. 22 We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. 11: Romans 3:24-28 NLT Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins. 25 For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times. 26 And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus. 27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. 12: Romans 10:8-9 NLT Salvation that comes from trusting Christ-which is the message we preach-is already within easy reach. In fact, the Scriptures say, "The message is close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart." 9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 13: Romans 4:14-25 NLT So if you claim that God's promise is for those who obey God's law and think they are "good enough" in God's sight, then you are saying that faith is useless. And in that case, the promise is also meaningless. 15 But the law brings punishment on those who try to obey it. (The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!) 16 So that's why faith is the key! God's promise is given to us as a free gift. And we are certain to receive it, whether or not we follow Jewish customs, if we have faith like Abraham's. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. 17 That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, "I have made you the father of many nations." This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who brings into existence what didn't exist before. 18 When God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations, Abraham believed him. God had also said, "Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars," even though such a promise seemed utterly impossible! 19 And Abraham's faith did not weaken, even though he knew that he was too old to be a father at the age of one hundred and that Sarah, his wife, had never been able to have children. 20 Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was absolutely convinced that God was able to do anything he promised. 22 And because of Abraham's faith, God declared him to be righteous. 23 Now this wonderful truth-that God declared him to be righteous-wasn't just for Abraham's benefit. 24 It was for us, too, assuring us that God will also declare us to be righteous if we believe in God, who brought Jesus our Lord back from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God. 14: Romans 10:8-13 NLT Salvation that comes from trusting Christ-which is the message we preach-is already within easy reach. In fact, the Scriptures say, "The message is close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart." 9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed." 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They all have the same Lord, who generously gives his riches to all who ask for them. 13 For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT!, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever!
  2. I don't understand why people want to go to Heaven in the first place. There is much more than just this short life. Our Creator designed us for Eternity, and we will spend Eternity in either Heaven or hell. God doesn't want any person to spend Eternity in hell, so He sent His Son to die on the Cross in payment for our sins and told us how to be rescued from from the penalties that we deserve for our disobedience and sin. How does murdering an innocent man pay for for the sins of another? If Bob killed Joe, would Bob be rescued from the the penalty for that crime if we killed Tom in his place? Would that be just? Jesus Christ wasn't just a man. He was Very God made manifest in the flesh. He also arose from the dead on the third day and had a host of witnesses. No other sacrifice would do. Only Jesus Christ was perfect, Holy, and without sin. This is a description of God's Perfect Love in dying for sinners who disobeyed and rejected Him. There is no greater Love. No man can earn or deserve the Gift God gave us. Yes, the Just died for the unjust - the Holy died for the unholy - the Sinless died for those who are wallowing in the darkness of sin and death. We are talking about the ways of our Creator - Almighty God. What man thinks he knows is nothing in comparison to what our Creator Does Know. We are just simple human beings, so it's hard for us to understand God's Ways. His Ways are definitely not man's ways, and His Perfection, Majesty, Holiness, and Might are beyond human comprehension. Rightfully so - He Created the Universe and set nature in place. The Laws of Nature are His, and all of the wonders that man sees are His Work. God The Father required a Perfect Sacrifice for man to be able to make Peace with Him. Jesus Christ was and is the Only Perfect Sacrifice. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are Absolute Truth - yet they are One Holy and Eternal Godhead. Christians walk with Jesus Christ, talk with God the Father, and have the Holy Spirit living in their hearts - so Christians don't have any doubts. Countless millions have testified of this Absolute Truth. Yes, Almighty God is the Absolute Truth. nChrist
  3. Regardless, "Experience DOESN'T encompass those things. People regularly draw distinction between academic learning and experiential knowledge. No one else tries to lump them together. You are trying to do so in order to escape the obvious truth that beliefs are chosen and are often arrived at by study and research, and not necessarily by experience. I believe that addiction to cocaine and methamphetamines is harmful to my body. I did not have to "experience" that at all. I chose to believe the information and research that has been made available that shows such to be true. There are tons of things we believe because we are taught, or because of what we have read or researched and don't necessarily need to "experience." We can choose to believe lots lof things. I'm not trying to escape anything, I'm not even disagreeing with you in regard to what our beliefs are based on. I just used the word experience in a manner you disagree with. What I disagree with is the idea that beliefs are chosen by a conscious process. As demonstration I ask you the same question that Believer1997 hasn't answered: Can you consciously choose to believe that putting your hand on a hot stove is beneficial and if you can, how long do you think that belief would last? You are simply trying to intellectualize rejecting Christ, and it doesn't fly. In fact, it doesn't even sound intellectual. In other words, you're playing semantics and word games with the most important decision of your life. This life is uncertain, and you might not have tomorrow or even the next hour to make this decision. If you physically die before making this decision, Eternity for you is sealed in the fires of hell, so this is nothing to play games with. I must add that the games are really sad. If you want to investigate, do so seriously and stop playing the games. You are here on a Christian forum, and this is a good start in the investigation. Regardless of the method of investigation, faith comes from Hearing, and Hearing by the Word of God. So, read and listen, but your heart is closed as long as you're just playing games. As a starter, you should already know that Jesus Christ did live and walk on this earth. World time is set by his life and death, so this should be a given. Numerous books other than the Holy Bible record the same events that are written in the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is most definitely not fiction, and it isn't a novel. It's a creative Masterpiece like no other before or since. The Holy Bible proves itself so many times that it must be Supernatural, and it is. It's God's Word, and nothing can destroy it. Many have tried, but God said that His Word would be preserved forever, and It Is. God also promised that His Word would never return void - that His Word will always achieve His Will and purpose. You've probably tried numerous times, but you can't dismiss God's Word. You even play word games with yourself - in your own mind. God's Word makes too much sense because it's the Absolute Truth. Dismiss the games, not God's Word, and do a serious investigation. You won't be happy until you do. Just remember that you might not have very much time. Any of us could physically die at any moment. Christians have peace with God, and we know where we will be spending Eternity. The nagging doubt is gone because Jesus Christ does live, and He's just as real as you are. This evil world is on a collision course with a showdown with God, and God will win. God will prove that He is real beyond any doubt, but it will be too late for those who have rejected Him. The earth is about to be plunged into the most horrible 7 years in the history of mankind. God foretold the Tribulation Period, and the signs indicate that it could start at any time. If you want to know what the future holds for the earth, God's Word tells us all about it. Everything will happen exactly as He said it would. Most of the major players in the end days of this Age of Grace are ancient and can still be easily identified. No combination of powers will be able to stop what is about to happen because God never breaks a promise. God made promises to Israel, to Christians, and to the lost - and they will all be kept perfectly. The time is growing short. nChrist
  4. Romans 10:17-21 ASV So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. 18 But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world. 19 But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you. 20 And Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me. 21 But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. God's Word proves itself with mountains of evidence from cover to cover. There are also mountains of evidence outside of the Holy Bible that prove it is True. In fact, God's Word is the ultimate and absolute Truth that is the measurement of all other Truth. God's Word stands as the final authority in all things because it is The Creator's Revelation to mankind. It's easy to believe God's Word because His Words make perfect sense. This is why faith comes from Hearing and Hearing by the Word of God. God's Word is the only accurate history of mankind and the universe. It stands alone as the Creator's Instructions to us and what He wants us to know. The future is already recorded in God's Word for all to read, and everything will come to pass exactly as it is written in the Holy Bible. Many prophecies of the Holy Bible have already been fulfilled perfectly, just as God said that they would. I firmly believe that we live in a time where the end of this Age of Grace draws near. Only God knows the time, but He has given us signs to look for in His Word. There is Bible Prophecy yet to be fulfilled, and it will involve all of mankind. The time may be growing short for the lost to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. nChrist
  5. If we place our faith in Jesus Christ and accept Him as the Lord over our lives, we are Saved. Lord is His rightful place anyway whether we accept Him or reject Him. If we reject Him, He will be our Righteous Judge, and He will pronounce the sentence of condemnation to the Eternal fires of hell. Asking about why we would like to go to heaven could be compared to why we want to live in this short life. However, the contrast is dramatic. One is like the blink of an eye compared to Eternity. We can also make comparisons in this short life between living it with Jesus Christ or without Him. Again, the contrast is dramatic. Great joy and peace is added to this life if we live it with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. God is the only One who will never fail us, lie to us, leave us, or forsake us. Everything about life is more abundant if we live it with Christ and in Christ. I'm not talking about the things of this world, rather the priceless and timeless riches of Christ. We can experience many of His Blessings in this short life, but a Christian's real Citizenship and Inheritance awaits in Heaven as Children of the King Of Kings. God gives us glimpses of what Heaven will be like in His Word, and I want to share a few of my favorite portions of Scripture with you. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ASV 13 But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that fall asleep; that ye sorrow not, even as the rest, who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also that are fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; 17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 ASV 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law: 57 but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord. Revelation 21:4-23 ASV 4 and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away. 5 And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true. 6 And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death. 9 And there came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were laden with the seven last plagues; and he spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb. 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God: her light was like unto a stone most precious, as it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal: 12 having a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 on the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that spake with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18 And the building of the wall thereof was jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto pure glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the several gates was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple thereof. 23 And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the Lamb. Revelation 22:1-8 ASV 1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, 2 in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve manner of fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him; 4 and they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads. 5 And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. 6 And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angels to show unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass. 7 And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book. 8 And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things. I hope this helps you some. Just know that there is much more than just this short life. nChrist
  6. Such is our media....look how they reported on every little gaffe when the Obamas were in Europe. Good grief, a person would have to be a saint or a robot to never pronounce a word wrong or forget to kiss someone or something else equally as banal. But I seriously don't remember Dick Cheney being on the talking head shows...ever! I think that the news media has given Obama a free ride, and there's no comparison to what they did to Bush. The coverage is so obviously lopsided that I wouldn't be surprised if someone asked the news media to get negative on a couple of Obama gaffes. After all, the news media hasn't even covered the big and bad Obama stuff, illegal and Unconstitutional actions, and major blunders - one right after another. The news media didn't find it interesting enough to say anything about the string of appointments that were involved in various kinds of tax cheats and tax evasion. The contrast is stark! ACORN and all kinds of other huge issues aren't worthy for the news media to even look into. In fact, the corruption in Washington, D.C. right now is so bad that the Mafia looks like choirboys. What's it going to take for the news media to start looking into things? If they don't start soon, there might not be much left of the country.
  7. Regardless of administrations or law, I think that Christians have a responsibility to call evil what it is - EVIL! Remaining silent is not an option because that's just one way of calling evil good. Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! The issues boil down to the most basic and decent: do we mass murder completely innocent babies and call it good? We do if we remain silent. Many people can't have children and they desperately want the gift and joy of a child from God. Their desire to adopt is strong enough to go to other countries while over 1 million babies are butchered and thrown in garbage cans in this country every year. This is not the mark of a civilized society and should be a national shame. This is not just a matter for Christians, rather for all decent people who value innocent human life. Let's get blunt and ask some questions: wouldn't that include all people unless they are barbarians? Or, is it possible that barbarians are more civilized than we are? Psalms 22:9-10 ASV 9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust when I was upon my mother's breasts. 10 I was cast upon thee from the womb; Thou art my God since my mother bare me. Psalms 71:5-6 ASV 5 For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah: Thou art my trust from my youth. 6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb; Thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: My praise shall be continually of thee. Psalms 127:3-5 ASV 3 Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah; And the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the children of youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be put to shame, When they speak with their enemies in the gate. Psalms 139:13-18 ASV 13 For thou didst form my inward parts: Thou didst cover me in my mother's womb. 14 I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with thee. Matthew 10:29-31 ASV 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father: 30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:1-7 ASV 1 In the mean time, when the many thousands of the multitude were gathered together, insomuch that they trod one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 But there is nothing covered up, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 3 Wherefore whatsoever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light; and what ye have spoken in the ear in the inner chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Nothing will be hidden! - All will be revealed! - There will be an accounting to God! nChrist
  8. I agree with your opinion! I'm just glad there are a few left with the courage to stand up and take on the current administration in matters of survival. I won't even address all the other rogue, illegal, and Unconstitutional actions of the current administration - just security. Dick Cheney is a man of maturity, courage, and reason. In comparison, the Obama Administration is playing in a sandbox. nChrist
  9. BINGO! There never has been a two state solution in this age, and there won't be. All kinds of offers have been made to the Palestinians over the years, including lands that would be much larger than what tiny Israel has. The only thing that will make the Arab Nations happy is the total elimination and annihilation of Israel. That's not going to happen in this age or the next. God will establish a One State solution, and it will be final. Israel will get every square inch of the Promised Land forever, and no combination of powers will be able to stop it. nChrist
  10. You just spoke volumes that agrees completely with God's Word. Israel and Jerusalem will be the center stage for the entire world soon, and Bible Prophecy will be perfectly unfolded by God. It will first be the central focus for the greatest horror, wars, and bloodshed that has ever been known. It will also be a primary reason for Christ's Second Coming in great and Holy Wrath. Jesus Christ Himself will rule and reign over the earth from the Throne of David in Jerusalem. I find it ironic that many Christians have a hard time believing this, but God has Promised that these things will happen. The probable generation this will take place in is this one. nChrist
  11. I think that many try to reduce or marginalize abortion issues when it's called just a moral issue. It's a black and white issue of killing human beings. Yes, people use words and descriptions designed to ease the conscience. Regardless, it boils down to a simple question: do we kill innocent human beings as matter of convenience, to save money, to avoid responsibility consequences for fornication, or any number of other lame excuses? Sadly, our society does, and it's actually worse than the holocaust. It's a barbaric practice that average people can't bear to watch because it's too horrible. Abortion is not just a moral issue. Abortion is the mass murder of 1 million or more completely innocent babies in this country every year. This should make every American cry, and all should know there will be an accounting with God. nChrist
  12. Personally, I think that the 7 year Tribulation Period is near. Jesus Christ Himself will restore peace and rule over the earth from the Throne of David in Jerusalem. Let's get real and think about what God has said about children and life. Is there really any doubt about what God would say and do about abortion? God said that He numbered the hairs on our heads before the foundation of the world. God also says that he knitted us together in our mother's womb. Children are a gift and miracle from God, and they belong to God. People who have anything to do with killing babies will answer to God, and God won't be interested in man's pitiful excuses and attempted justifications. As a comparison, let's see what Jesus said about children: Matthew 18:4-6 ASV 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me: 6 But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea. What do you suppose that God will do about abortion? nChrist
  13. God's Word tells us how this age-old conflict will end. Bible Prophecy tells us that the world will face a horrible 7 year period of time called the Tribulation Period. It will be a time of trouble and bloodshed so horrible that World War II would be like a picnic in comparison. I think that the stage is being set and that time is near. It will be a time of total chaos, and only Jesus Christ Himself will be able to restore peace. Jesus Christ ends the Tribulation Period with His Second Coming in great and Holy Wrath. He will crush evil and reserve it for final judgment to the eternal fires of Hell. By this time, 75% of the population of the earth has been killed. Let's go back and provide a few more details. Jesus Christ is the Anointed King of Israel, and He will not be denied His Throne in Jerusalem. The time will come in the Tribulation Period where Israel will fear total annihilation, and Israel will cry out to God. The Second Coming of Christ will be their answer. God will fulfill all of His ancient Promises to Israel, and Israel will accept their King as the True Messiah. Israel will be restored, and all of the lands promised to Israel will be given to them. Jesus Christ will rule and reign over the earth from the Throne of David in Jerusalem. God's Solution will be final, and no combination of powers will be able to stop Him. All of these things will literally be fulfilled according to God's Promises. Ezekiel 38:14-23 ASV 14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In that day when my people Israel dwelleth securely, shalt thou not know it? 15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the uttermost parts of the north, thou, and many peoples with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company and a mighty army; 16 and thou shalt come up against my people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land: it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. 17 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Art thou he of whom I spake in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, that prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring thee against them? 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, that my wrath shall come up into my nostrils. 19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; 20 so that the fishes of the sea, and the birds of the heavens, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. 21 And I will call for a sword against him unto all my mountains, saith the Lord Jehovah: every man's sword shall be against his brother. 22 And with pestilence and with blood will I enter into judgment with him; and I will rain upon him, and upon his hordes, and upon the many peoples that are with him, an overflowing shower, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. 23 And I will magnify myself, and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. Ezekiel 39:1-7 ASV 1 And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal: 2 and I will turn thee about, and will lead thee on, and will cause thee to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel; 3 and I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. 4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy hordes, and the peoples that are with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah. 6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and on them that dwell securely in the isles; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. 7 And my holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Israel; neither will I suffer my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One in Israel. Ezekiel 39:17-29 ASV 17 And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Speak unto the birds of every sort, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood. 18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. 19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. 20 And ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord Jehovah. 21 And I will set my glory among the nations; and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. 22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am Jehovah their God, from that day and forward. 23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they trespassed against me, and I hid my face from them: so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they fell all of them by the sword. 24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions did I unto them; and I hid my face from them. 25 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for my holy name. 26 And they shall bear their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they shall dwell securely in their land, and none shall make them afraid; 27 when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations. 28 And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them unto their own land; and I will leave none of them any more there; 29 neither will I hide my face any more from them; for I have poured out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah. Isaiah 2:1-5 ASV 1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in the latter days, that the mountain of Jehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many peoples shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem. 4 And he will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Jehovah. Isaiah 9:2-7 ASV 2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. 3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast increased their joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. 4 For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, thou hast broken as in the day of Midian. 5 For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire. 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 65:17-25 ASV 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people; and there shall be heard in her no more the voice of weeping and the voice of crying. 20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days; for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed. 21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree shall be the days of my people, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23 They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for calamity; for they are the seed of the blessed of Jehovah, and their offspring with them. 24 And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox; and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith Jehovah. nChrist
  14. Is Jesus Christ Very God? Revelation 1:7-8 ASV 7 Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen. 8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 21:22-27 ASV 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple thereof. 23 And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the Lamb. 24 And the nations shall walk amidst the light thereof: and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. 25 And the gates thereof shall in no wise be shut by day (for there shall be no night there): 26 and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it: 27 and there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean, or he that maketh an abomination and a lie: but only they that are written in the Lamb's book of life. Revelation 22:1-5 ASV 1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, 2 in the midst of the street thereof. Revelation 4:11 ASV Worthy art thou, our Lord and our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power: for thou didst create all things, and because of thy will they were, and were created. Romans 11:33-36 ASV 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things. To him be the glory for ever. Amen. Titus 1:1-4 ASV 1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal; 3 but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour; 4 to Titus, my true child after a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour. Yes, Jesus Christ is God, and He has always been God. This is not a matter for debate, rather a Bible Fact. God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are also God - yet One Holy and Almighty God. We are just simple human beings and can't comprehend the full Might, Majesty, and ways of Almighty God. However, we do have God's Word, and He has told us what He wants us to know about Him. I have no doubt that He will reveal much more at His Appointed Time. As Christians, we believe what God has told us in His Word, even though we can't fully understand all in this short life. As Christians, we know Jesus Christ and He knows us, and the Holy Spirit of God lives in our hearts. If this were a debate, the above would simply be an opening argument. However, I've seen and heard this debate ongoing during my entire life. Why? Jesus Christ is the only Way to Salvation, so the devil must marginalize Jesus Christ in any way that he can. I have debated this topic many times over the last 40 years, but I have no intention of doing it again. First, God's Word testifies of the Absolute Truth on this issue, and God's Word speaks for itself. It then becomes a simple matter of each individual either accepting or rejecting God's Word. Second, untold millions of people have testified that Jesus Christ is God over the last 2,000 years. Jesus Christ and the Cross are the most important events of human history, but this does not imply that Jesus Christ came into existence at that time. Jesus Christ was and is God, and He was made manifest in the flesh to perform the greatest act of Love in history. He is the Holy and Just who died on the Cross for the unholy and unjust. He was God and Man at the same time, and He suffered all things willingly. Otherwise, no combination of powers could have crucified the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. The only pure measurement of Love is the Love of Jesus Christ who took our punishment in His own Holy Body. Jesus Christ is Alive for Eternity Past and Eternity Future. As Christians, our Life is in Him. Finally, I personally testify that Jesus Christ is Alive and is my Life. The Holy Spirit of God lives in my heart. This is the ultimate reality and the Absolute Truth, but each individual is responsible for accepting or rejecting these precious Truths and bearing the consequences. nChrist
  15. Is Jesus Christ Very God? Matthew 1:22-23 ASV 22 Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us. Matthew 26:63-66 ASV 63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven. 65 Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy: 66 what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death. Philippians 2:5-11 ASV 5 Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; 8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; 10 that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 3:8-9 ASV 8 Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ, 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith: Proverbs 8:17-36 ASV 17 I love them that love me; And those that seek me diligently shall find me. 18 Riches and honor are with me; Yea, durable wealth and righteousness. 19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; And my revenue than choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice; 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, And that I may fill their treasuries. 22 Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth; 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, 28 When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong, 29 When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth; 30 Then I was by him, as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him, 31 Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men. 32 Now therefore, my sons, hearken unto me; For blessed are they that keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, And refuse it not. 34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, And shall obtain favor of Jehovah. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: All they that hate me love death. Psalms 102:25-28 ASV 25 Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth; And the heavens are the work of thy hands. 26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure; Yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: 27 But thou art the same, And thy years shall have no end. 28 The children of thy servants shall continue, And their seed shall be established before thee. Psalms 33:4-6 ASV 4 For the word of Jehovah is right; And all his work is done in faithfulness. 5 He loveth righteousness and justice: The earth is full of the lovingkindness of Jehovah. 6 By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Revelation 10:5-6 ASV 5 And the angel that I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his right hand to heaven, 6 and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created the heaven and the things that are therein, and the earth and the things that are therein, and the sea and the things that are therein, that there shall be delay no longer: Revelation 14:6-7 ASV 6 And I saw another angel flying in mid heaven, having eternal good tidings to proclaim unto them that dwell on the earth, and unto every nation and tribe and tongue and people; 7 and he saith with a great voice, Fear God, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters. Revelation 19:13-16 ASV 13 And he is arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and pure. 15 And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
  16. Is Jesus Christ Very God? Isaiah 66:1 ASV Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest? Isaiah 9:6 ASV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jeremiah 10:12 ASV He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding hath he stretched out the heavens. Jeremiah 27:4-5 ASV 4 and give them a charge unto their masters, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say unto your masters: 5 I have made the earth, the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it unto whom it seemeth right unto me. Jeremiah 32:17-18 ASV 17 Ah Lord Jehovah! behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thine outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for thee, 18 who showest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Jehovah of hosts is his name; John 10:30 ASV I and the Father are one. John 10:7-11 ASV 7 Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. John 11:25-26 ASV 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live; 26 and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 14:1 ASV Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:6-7 ASV 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. John 15:1-5 ASV 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing. John 17:24 ASV Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. John 19:7 ASV The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. John 1:1-3 ASV 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made. John 1:14 ASV And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth. John 20:27-29 ASV 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29 Jesus saith unto him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 3:16 ASV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 6:35-40 ASV 35 Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, that ye have seen me, and yet believe not. 37 All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 8:12 ASV Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life. Luke 2:10-11 ASV 10 And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: 11 for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. Mark 14:61-64 ASV 61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. 63 And the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses? 64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be worthy of death.
  17. Is Jesus Christ Very God? 2 Peter 3:5-7 ASV 5 For this they willfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God; 6 by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. Acts 1:8-11 ASV 8 But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they were looking stedfastly into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye looking into heaven? this Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye beheld him going into heaven. Acts 4:10-12 ASV 10 be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. 12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved. Acts 7:55-60 ASV 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God. 57 But they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon the Lord, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Colossians 1:12-20 ASV 12 giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; 13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; 14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins: 15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; 17 and he is before all things, and in him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it was the good pleasure of the Father that in him should all the fulness dwell; 20 and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, I say, whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens. Galatians 4:4-7 ASV 4 but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 So that thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God. Hebrews 1:8-10 ASV 8 but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands: Isaiah 37:16 ASV O Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, that sittest above the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth. Isaiah 40:10-12 ASV 10 Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. 11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young. 12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Isaiah 41:1-5 ASV 1 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the peoples renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak; let us come near together to judgment. 2 Who hath raised up one from the east, whom he calleth in righteousness to his foot? he giveth nations before him, and maketh him rule over kings; he giveth them as the dust to his sword, as the driven stubble to his bow. 3 He pursueth them, and passeth on safely, even by a way that he had not gone with his feet. 4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, the first, and with the last, I am he. 5 The isles have seen, and fear; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come. Isaiah 43:11-15 ASV 11 I, even I, am Jehovah; and besides me there is no saviour. 12 I have declared, and I have saved, and I have showed; and there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and I am God. 13 Yea, since the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who can hinder it? 14 Thus saith Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring down all of them as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their rejoicing. 15 I am Jehovah, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. Isaiah 45:18 ASV For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else. Isaiah 54:5 ASV For thy Maker is thy husband; Jehovah of hosts is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is thy Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.
  18. Is Jesus Christ Very God? Yes, He most certainly is! Let's ask a lot of questions and look at many portions of Scripture. If you want to understand it all, go back and put the Scriptures in context. Who is the Creator and Almighty God? 1 - God the Father 2 - God the Son 3 - God the Holy Spirit Note: Yet the Holy Three are One! Note 2: Man is the only Creature Almighty God made in His Image (i.e. body, soul, and spirit). I must also state that God's Creation was perfect from the start, so throw the theory of evolution away as garbage. Man disobeyed God and lost many of the things that God intended. This is the "Fall of Man" - not the "Rise of Man". Man lost perfection in all things, including himself and his surroundings, so man had to leave the Garden of Eden. Other Questions? Who Is: Emmanuel (God with us)? God Blessed Forever? God made manifest in the flesh? I AM? Jehovah God? Jehovah? Lord God Almighty? Mighty God? The Alpha and Omega? Note: The Holy Names above are just a small sample. Scriptures: Note: The Scriptures are bold and blunt about Jesus Christ being Very God, Almighty God, The Creator. There are so many Scriptures that I plan to put them in alphabetical order to make it easier for those who want to go back and study them in context. 1 Chronicles 16:31 ASV Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth. 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 ASV 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 31 that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 John 5:20 ASV And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 1 John 5:5-13 ASV 5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. 7 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth. 8 For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son. 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son. 11 And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life. 13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 Peter 1:10-11 ASV 10 Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them. 1 Samuel 2:6-8 ASV 6 Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up. 7 Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up. 8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, And inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's, And he hath set the world upon them. 1 Timothy 3:16 ASV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. 2 Chronicles 2:6 ASV But who is able to build him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him? 2 Chronicles 6:30-31 ASV 30 then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling-place and forgive, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men); 31 that they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers. 2 Peter 1:1-4 ASV 1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and the Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3 seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue; 4 whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by lust.
  19. As Christians, we should know that things are getting worse and more evil by the day, but we belong to God. We don't know what tomorrow will bring for our families or ourselves, but we belong to God. We can't help but think about the evil that many want because it impacts the very core of our lives. It's always time for us to pray for each other and our country. We can also encourage and strengthen each other in Christ. I was reading this morning and want to share two portions of Scripture that speak volumes. God hasn't changed, and He will equip us to do His Will. It's our part to pray for guidance and strength to do His Will. Yielding to His Will for us should be our highest priority. Ephesians 6:11-20 ASV 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints, 19 and on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Titus 2:11-15 ASV For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world; 13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise thee. nChrist
  20. The "good argument" is very common, and I think it's the natural vanity of man talking. I've heard something like the following many times: 1 - If Heaven is real, I've been good enough to go there. 2 - If there is a God, my morals and ethics are better than most of the Christians I know. 3 - I do much more for charity than any of the Christians I know. I honestly do believe that statements like the above are from vanity. They look at portions of Christian teachings and think God would take them before He would many Christians. It's apparent that they understand how men define "good" - but not God. As Christians we know that God accepts works as good only if they are done by Christians with a pure motivation of love. We know the reality is that no man can earn or work their way to Heaven. Our own righteousness is as filthy rags, so we must yield ourselves to the righteousness of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 31 that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. nChrist
  21. Amen! This turned out to be a fascinating thread, and I'm hoping that more reply. nChrist
  22. Thank you for the civics lesson! You're most welcome. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get Washington, D.C. to at least take a civics refresher course? After watching and listening to all of the antics over the past several days, I'm thinking that the most appropriate place for the course would be prison. How about GITMO? nChrist
  23. ARE YOU LOST? Good Or Bad: I didn't ask if you are a good person or a bad person. I asked you if Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour. In God's eyes, there are no good people apart from Jesus Christ. In fact, the Holy Bible goes into great detail about what God thinks about people who have rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The only unpardonable sin is rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Matthew 10:28 And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Plain Language: Let's put this into plain language that everyone can understand. You should already know that you've done some bad and wrong things, but now you should know that God calls these things sins. All men are sinners, and no man is good. All men are lost until they accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Many get confused about the death sentence mentioned in Romans 6:23 because they think of only physical death. Man has a spirit that will live on after the physical body dies, and our spirit will live for Eternity in either Heaven or the fires of Hell. There is no end, so man is desperate for a Saviour who can Save them from the curse of sin and death. Those who physically die in their sins without accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are physically dying without their sins being forgiven. The penalty is the Eternal fires of Hell. This is the ultimate reality that won't go away, and it's the most important issue of your entire life that you must address one way or another. You must either accept or reject Jesus Christ and bear the consequences. This Short Life Versus Eternity: This short life is like the blink of an eye when compared to the Eternity to come. I must also tell you that you will have a body for Eternity. If you are a Christian, God will give you a Glorified Body like the one Christ has at His Appointed Time. If you die in your unforgiven sins, God will resurrect your body for final judgment, and that body will go with you to Hell. Some will laugh and say that these things aren't possible, but they are Promises from our Creator - Almighty God. There isn't anything funny about what God has told us. We will all have Eternity to review His Words of Absolute Truth - either in Heaven or Hell. The Holy Bible - God's Word: One of the first things that a lost person should know is that the Holy Bible is God's Word. The writers of the Holy Bible were directly Inspired by God to write every word in the Holy Bible. This makes the Bible different from every other book that has ever been written. The Holy Bible isn't just the best-selling masterpiece of all time, rather it is the Word of God. The Holy Bible proves itself in hundreds of ways, and there are great hosts of witnesses who have testified about the Absolute Truth of our Living Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The dates on the earth are fixed with His Name (i.e. B.C., A.D.). Jesus Christ is the most written about and talked about in the entire history of mankind. I must also state that God's Word is the only accurate history book, both of the past and the future. Accepting Jesus Christ: Have you been thinking about accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? If the answer is "no", it's far past time to consider the most important decision of your entire life. Everything, especially life, is uncertain, and any of us could die at any moment from dozens of causes. Tomorrow really could be too late, so won't you take a few minutes and think about things right now? I promise you that Jesus Christ is real - just as real as you are. If you want to seriously consider this most important issue, just keep reading. You don't have to go to hell, regardless of how many bad things that you've done. You can be forgiven and have peace with God. Please read about the Good News. GOOD NEWS! 1: Romans 3:10-12 ASV 10 as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God; 12 They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one: 2: Romans 3:23 ASV for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; 3: Romans 5:12 ASV Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned: - 4: Romans 6:23 ASV For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 5: Romans 1:18 ASV For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness; 6: Romans 3:20 ASV because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin. 7: Romans 3:27 ASV Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith. 8: Romans 5:8-9 ASV But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him. 9: Romans 2:4 ASV Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 10: Romans 3:21-22 ASV 21 But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction; 11: Romans 3:27-28 ASV 27 Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith. 28 We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 12: Romans 10:8-10 ASV 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: 9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: 10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 13: Romans 4:21-25 ASV 21 and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 Wherefore also it was reckoned unto him for righteousness. 23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was reckoned unto him; 24 but for our sake also, unto whom it shall be reckoned, who believe on him that raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification. 14: Romans 5:1-2 ASV 1 Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; 2 through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 15: Romans 10:10-13 ASV 10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame. 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him: 13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 2 Corinthians 9:15 ASV Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift. God's Gift to us was sending Jesus Christ to die for us on the Cross about 2,000 years ago. He was a Perfect and Holy Sacrifice, and it's His Blood that washes our sins away. He arose from the dead on the third day and is our Living Lord and Saviour forever! Won't you stop putting this most important decision of your life off and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? Tomorrow might be too late. Many here will be happy to help you. If your heart and mind are right, you can be saved right now. You don't have to wait. You might say a simple prayer and mean it from the bottom of your heart. Something like this: Dear Heavenly Father, I've sinned against you many times, and I know that I'm lost and on my way to hell. I know now that you are the only God and Creator of all. I know that you are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit - Yet One Almighty God. I know in my heart that you sent your Son to die on the Cross in payment for my sins. I also know in my heart that you raised your Son from the dead on the third day, and His Holy Name is Jesus Christ. Dear God, I beg forgiveness for my sins, and I ask that you send your Holy Spirit to live in my heart as a guide and comforter. Dear God, I know that Jesus Christ loves me enough to die for me, and I want Him to be the Lord and Head over my life. I want to return His Love, and I ask these things in the Precious Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour Forever. Amen. The prayer should be in your own words, and you must mean it from the bottom of your heart. If you do, God will hear you and grant your prayer. Your life will be changed forever from that very moment, and you will be able to say that God has Saved you. nChrist
  24. Various news agencies report there are 30 or more states that have in one way or another passed legislation that declares State Sovereignty on a number of issues. This is really just a reminder since the States already have Sovereignty. The Federal Government needs numerous rude reminders that the Federal Government is the servant to the States - not the other way around. So, the Federal Government is currently taking money and property in an illegal and Unconstitutional way. Further, the Federal Government is trying to dictate things that the Federal Government does not have the power to dictate. Further, the Federal Government will never have these powers unless the States vote and give it to them. Regardless, the Federal Government has already done a list of illegal and Unconstitutional acts. Nationalizing banks and auto makers are just tiny examples. The Federal Government does not have the power to use taxpayer money in that fashion, and it should never be given that kind of power. Trying to nationalize healthcare and using taxpayer money to pay for abortions around the world is another tiny example. The people didn't authorize these things and neither did the States. When all of the outrageous bills start coming due, what happens if the States refuse to pay the bill? When the Federal government starts dictating lists of illegal and Unconstitutional mandates to the States, what happens when the States say No? Many States are going to say No! Why? We don't live in a dictatorship, and Washington, D.C. has not been given the power to do the things that they're doing. Further, the States aren't going to give that power to Washington, and the States are going to keep their own specific Sovereignty. There's little doubt why the State Legislatures have been extremely busy places over the last months. Most of the States haven't forgotten this is still a free country with a government by the people and for the people -- under the Rule of Law and Constitutions of the People. Bluntly, there are a lot of hot checks being written that the People and the States will not honor. Push will eventually come to shove on insane, illegal, and Unconstitutional mandates. When it does, the answer will be no! The only answer is to go back to the Rule of Law and the Constitution. So, the Founders have already given the remedy. nChrist
  25. For me, it's all of the above and much more. This is a way to serve the Lord and have Christian Fellowship. This is also a wonderful way to share the Good News and the Gospel of the Grace of God with people around the world. We should also remember that many people are ill or otherwise shut-ins, and this may be their door to the outside world. We all know that there are many evil things on the Internet, but Worthy is a specific door for good and Godly content. nChrist
