  1. Evidently, Professor Zuckerman's analysis didn't include all of the facts. A new study published in The Journal of College AdmissionHYPERLINK "http://i.bnet.com/blogs/homeschool.pdf" suggests that homeschool students enjoy higher ACT scores, grade point averages and graduation rates compared with other college students. The finding are especially interesting because there has been a paucity of research focused on how homeschooled students fare in college. Homeschooled students enjoys a larger percentage than any other, at 30%, which are homeschooled for religious purposes . So I would conclude Mr. Zuckerman's analysis is inaccurate.
  2. Hello PetriFB Thank you for this news. I know the University of Rochester well. It is a very liberal University in New York State and its Hospital, the University of Rochester Medical Center, is number 5 in New York State as top hospitals. I have been employed by this university and can confirm that the entire institution, while an excellent higher school of learning when it comes to medicine, is very politically left oriented and receives many government research grants. So it doesn't surprise me that the institution takes this stand on intelligence.
  3. I would take the problem to the store manager. Have the cost all tallied up on a piece of paper plus what you buy, just like you explained here in your OP, and ask the manager why the difference in price. I hope you saved your receipts, because if it turns out the manager tells you you are right, then the store owes you a refund.

  5. Sorry, but that is just your opinion, and it doesn't jive with what many others see as THE LAST DAY. There is more than one LAST DAY. The righteous living have an appointed last day as do the unrighteous living. Then there is another last day where Jesus, the King, once returned, will judge the nations (Sheep and Goats judgment). The Pre-trib view cannot be eliminated, as the call of the Bridegroom to His waiting Bride is the Bride's particular last day as betrothed. Of course it's my opinion. As if you don't have an opinion? Unfortunately your opinion holds no water as it cannot be substantiated by Scripture which is the only thing that matters despite what you or "others" claim. The pre-trib view of course maintains that the rapture occurs before the start of the tribulation period. However, no where in the Bible is the time period before the tribulation ever referred to as the Last Day, therefore your notion is false. If you can show me scripture that refutes this, I will gladly reconsider my opinion. The confusing thing about the rapture is confusing the pre-trib people with biblical facts!
  6. I don't even have to read this article and I can smell an agenda.... One where the government will take more control over Christ's church.
  7. In Rebuke, Obama Cancels Moscow Summit With Putin LOS ANGELES (AP) -- In a rare diplomatic rebuke, President Barack Obama on Wednesday canceled his Moscow summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The decision reflected both U.S. anger over Russia's harboring of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden and growing frustration within the Obama administration over what it sees as Moscow's stubbornness on other key issues, including missile defense and human rights.
  8. Montana Marv Nikki I guess you missed what I wrote in my post #56 above.
  9. Mary is the tie that binds Islam & Catholicism
  10. God's Grace still stands and if the person becomes a believer in Christ and repents of his crime, God is faithful to forgive him/her. But the murderer will still have to pay for his crime according to Romans Chapter 13 and answer to the civil governing authorities in the jurisdiction, and in some states such as Texas, the death penalty still stands.
  11. Politics being what they are, one has to ask oneself, did Putin and Obama discuss this before the decision was made? My bet would be yes. Yes, they did discuss this incident more than once, but Obama lost. Obama and his DOJ head Holder wanted Snowden extradited.
  12. While no doubt Putin is using this for political leverage, compared to the leadership in the WH, Putin looks like a saint. I am glad he took Snowden in because Snowden needed a place to live, and it irks Obama. It's a win win situation for Putin and Snowden right now.
  13. I thought this was an excellent article. And it doesn't just occur with trolls. I don't participate in social networking, but I have participated in message boards and have read many times where the mods have had to remind participates "no personal attacks" or "debate the subject and not the person" and so forth. This is definitely a sign of built up anger and hostility and other emotional problems when a person behind a computer screen cannot control themselves and have to lash out at someone they don't even know on the internet. Similar to "road rage".
  14. It's all about ratings for CNN. Too many conservative media and bloggers have been reporting on the Benghazi cover-up for a long time and CNN has no doubt known about it too but for political reasons did not report it for fear of ruining Hillary Clinton, the then Sec. of State's chances at a 2014 presidential run. CNN probably thinks it's safe now because most people could care less about Benghazi, except of course certain conservative groups who have tried to keep it in the news. By the time 2014 election time rolls around, Benghazi will be history, and won't even be brought up by CNN or the rest of the controlled media.
  15. This as another sign of the end times that we live in and that end times prophecy is rapidly accelerating. The blasphemous Dome Of The Rock is an abomination that stands in the Holy Place on the Temple Mount where it ought not be, and has been sitting on Israel's Temple Mount since 688; this is very symbolic of the Islamic Beast Kingdom which I believe is the final kingdom of Rev. 17:11 of the time of the end that oppressed God's people then and now. Let the muslims have it. It is nothing but an abomination and has been since 688.
  16. The picture in the video looks about the same as the original post video and it is huge. This leads me to think the picture that AJ put up was obscured. Also, the dates are different, so maybe AJ's picture isn't even the same picture as the original post picture. Much activity could have taken place on the sun within those 5 days after the 13th of July.
  17. It's business as usual with the Palestinians. Something drastic has to happen because Livni, who under Olmert, was ready to give away practically all of Jerusalem and the West Bank, is involved in the negotiations again.
  18. Montana Marv: History shows otherwise. The Assyrian Empire was irrelavent by the time Daniel wrote the Book of Daniel. There is no shortage of agreement of the first six kingdoms. http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geu4wFZQ9ID_QArjJXNyoA?p=egypt+assyria+babylon+medo+persia+greece+rome&y=Search&fr=yfp-t-501-s&ei=UTF-8 The Book of Kings states several times that the entire people of the Kingdom of Israel had been taken into exile by the Assyrians. Ancient Assyria was located in the vicinity of Babylon and is predominently muslim today, and the territory includes the north part of Iraq, southeast Turkey, and northeast Syria, and was a beast kingdom then, and is part of the Islamic Beast Kingdom today and all enemies of Israel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrian_captivity_of_Israel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrian_People Ancient Assyria Rome is #6 and was conquered by what is today known as the Ottoman Turks and predominately muslim. So say those of the pre-trib mindset, which is just an assumption without biblical evidence. huh? I really don't know what your above statement has to do with what is being discussed. Anyway, I think the Bible is a history book of the Jewish people and God's plan of salvation for the human race, which is Jesus Christ WillowWood: The only reason America did not become an Islamic State is because during the first Islamic Conquest (Jihad), the muslim army was defeated at the Battle of Tours, France with Charles Martel leading the army who defeated the Islamics. All of Europe would have been Islamic had the Islamics won this decisive battle. I posted some links to the Battle of Tours, France and most all historians agree that Islam would have taken over Europe had this battle been won.
  19. Blind Seeker: I am very much aware of the history of the land of Israel and its divisions, the reborn statehood of Israel in 1948, the partition plan, Israel's wars and peace accords with its hostile arab neighbors, and so forth. Thanks for putting the maps up, but this really doesn't change anything. It is what it is, and God's Word ref. the Jewish people has the final say. No matter how many times the Jews were exiled and or conquered and had the land taken from them, there was always a remnant of this distinct people in Israel who maintained their Jewelry, even if the world nations did not recognize Israel as such. We as Christians recognize God's Word to be the final authority in all things despite what governments and world nations do and say. Bingo, you got it! That would be the present day Islamic Kingdom, whose head leader Emir Abd er Rahman was literally killed at the Battle of Tours in the first Islamic conquest (Jihad) in 732. [And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast Rev. 13:3 and they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? Pre-trib people are stuck in the revived Roman Empire theory spearheaded by Hal Lindsey several years ago, when in fact, Rome fell at the hands of the Islamics, all the while right before their very eyes, the Islamic beast kingdom is growing larger and larger, murdering and beheading Christians (nothing's really changed since 732) and affecting the whole world with is second and final satanic jihad. This is the beast kingdom.
  20. Happy Birthday, Prayer Warrior!!
  21. "The reason it’s dark is that whole chunk of the sun basically ripped off, blew out and is coming our way at about two million miles an hour," said Powell. Well, that doesn’t sound good. Powell explained that this phenomenon happens frequently, but we don’t often see something this large. 22. Blind Seeker: The seven beast empires are from Egypt through the Islamic Empire. The Roman Empire fell to the Islamic Empire First Jihad. At the time John wrote his vision, the five kingdoms who had fallen were Egypt, Assyria, Babylonian, Medo-Persia, and Greece. Rome was number 6 and is the one who "is" (Rev. 17:10) when John wrote this. The mortal wound of the first Islamic Jihad was at the Battle of Tours, France. 1.The Islamic Caliph had already conquered Jerusalem during this time period, which was part of the first Islamic Jihad. I think this would be a credible reason. It's history you can look up. I provided in my earlier post (2) Israel Biblical timelines for resources and links on the Battle of Tours with a wealth of information online ref. ----> The Islamic caliph or first Islamic Jihad occurred from somewhere in the 600's until 1918. 2.Concerning your idea that Israel wasn't a nation, the Lord says differently. Sorry, ridicule wasn't my intent... I was making a generalized statement concerning this one point when I wrote"Simply read your Bible."
  23. Blind Seeker: It depends upon what you mean as a nation. Simply read your Bible. God has a different perspective than you regarding Israel as a nation. You are looking at it from a secular view, but the biblical viewpoint of the Lord is completely the opposite of what you see: "If those ordinances depart fron before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith theLORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 31:36-37 Even though you see it differently, The Lord Himself is affirming that the descendants of Israel will not cease to be a nation in His sight ... That could only happen if the fixed order of the heavens ceased to operate in an orderly manner. Yes, Israel's national polity was broken up by the Romans; but their preservation as a distinct people amidst violent persecutions, though scattered among the nations for 1800+centuries is indeed a miracle that only proves God's faithfulness that His Word is true. The Jews ceased not from being a nation through their captivity in Babylon or through their destruction by the Romans; they continue a distinct nation and people to this day. Christ will have a seed to serve him, just as written, as long as the sun and the moon are. He hath also established them for ever and ever; he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Psalm 148:6 You are misapplying Israel by sticking Israel among the beast kingdoms when you say (Israel was not - therefore the beast was not). In the complete context of John's vision of Rev. 17:11, John is referring to beast kingdoms. Israel has never been referred to as a beast kingdom. John specifically writes in Rev. 17:10 There are seven kings and five have fallen. At the time John wrote this, Rome was number 6 in of the beast empires. Now, look at what John says in the very next verse of Rev. 17:11 "And the beast that was, and is not, Using your analogy, you are saying that Israel is the beast that was, and is not. The Jewish people have never been a beast kingdom, never in the history of the Jewish people in the land of Israel. To continue on, John writes in Rev. 17:11, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. In the remainder of the verse, an eighth beast that was, ( meaning before John) BUT IS NOT. One can only conclude the 8th beast isn't about the Roman Empire either, but it is of the seven. This alone excludes Israel. To find out who the seventh beast kingdom is you have to refer further to John's writings in Rev. 13:2, where he speaks of a beast like a leopard, bear, and lion and the dragon gave him his power....This is the beast kingdom "that was" "and is not" (at the time of John's writing). To figure out who the leopard, bear, lion beast or the seventh beast is, you have to go to Daniel's vision in Daniel 7:3-7 where Daniel speaks of these very same beast kingdoms of the lion, bear (Medo Persia) and a leopard (Greece) who we know now to be Babylon. (lion) Daniel was looking forward at these kingdoms where John, in Rev. 13:2 was looking back. In this very area that we know as Babylon, who Daniel saw in his vision, sits Syria, Iran and Iraq and all Islamic today. This is who John is referring to as "the beast that was" and is not and fits into having been of the seven in Rev. 17:10 The seventh and eighth beasts are Islamic -the Lion, Bear, Leopard of Daniel's vision and satan's final kingdom. Satan's power is manifest in Islamic jihad that is moving around the entire globe today in one way or another. The jihadists hold ultimate power over the world's oil, enslaving everyone. The mortal wound of the first Islamic Jihad was at the Battle of Tours, France.
  24. Blind Seeker The problem with your including Israel with the eight kingdom beasts is that Israel never was a kingdom beast in John's or Daniel's vision. So your analogy in your above quote is completely off base When Rome dispersed the Jews, some Jewish communities remained and continued to exist in the land of Israel, under the leadership of the Roman Empire. Israel never ceased to exist, so for you to say "Israel was not" is in error.. It was during the seventh century that the Islamic beast from Arabia conquered most of the Middle East including "Palestine" (which is the land of Israel), and Jerusalem and the Islamic beast controlled the region until the early 1900's. By this time, there were more Jews and Christians living in the land of Israel.
  25. BlindSeeker: http://photo.net/travel/israel/timeline http://www.bible-history.com/rome/RomeTimeline__Biblical_History.htm For ancient Israel timeline, see above links. I have no idea why you stuck("Israel was not - therefore the beast was not") after Rome. Israel has been since way before the Battle of Tours which occurred in 732 and 100 years after the death of Mohammed. See more on Battle of Tours http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/Tours.html If you study ancient Israel, you will find out that the Jewish people have always inhabitated the land of Israel no matter how few or great in number. The land of Israel never ceased to exist even though it was conquered by various empires, and the Romans changed its name to Palestine. It was always Israel. The blasphemous words on the Dome of the Rock, built in 688, setting upon Israel's Temple Mount is proof that the Islamization of the Middle East by the seventh and eighth beast (the Islamic kingdom=beast) made the Holy Land spiritually desolate. The book of Daniel, in 7:23, defines the term beast, when Daniel wrote "The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon the earth". From this we can conclude the term beast = kingdom when used in the figurative language of a dream or vision of prophecy. Besides being an evil beast kingdom, Islam is also an idealogy, and is predominately anti-everything except allah, his (false) prophet, and is especially anti-Israel. Nothing has changed since its founder, Mohammed. The map I posted in my previous post represents the Islamic beast kingdom at that time of the first Islamic jihad. um.. I think I have already explained this. Go back and re-read what I have written.
