  1. First let me say I think everyone should read the whole Bible at least once. I have been thinking about whether to invest in a New Testament Bible. Any pros or cons you see or encountered that I should consider?
  2. OneLight, Good verse I had not thought of it. Matt 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Gives me the idea that some may not be ready to do same assignments.
  3. fire heart I agree I think there will be quiet a bit believers will need to know before any authority is given.
  4. I think most in Washington are waiting on the president to speak up even though he has not spoke up for anything helping Christians during his time there.
  5. We as Christians all know Gods ways are higher than ours and his knowledge is also far above ours. For him to put believers above angels I am thinking we are going to need a lot more knowledge than any human can learn on earth. And each is at a different level in Christ upon entry. By level it could be a number of things that determine that. ( ex. crowns given some may only get one others more.) Also this verse seems to play a part in some level. 1st Corin 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. My question is Do you think God will impart a vast amount of knowledge to believers in just a few minutes or would you think a more lengthy training would be in order?
  6. when I found the magnifying glass it said default and so I thought that is what I want but I could not read the default. This will be in my notes because not only are my eyes going my memory is too. so thank you all so very much.
  7. thank you both and both instructions worked. I can now see it is a small thing. To me both your instructions are big time help. Thanks a million times over.
  8. I need help can not find in search on this site. I scroll using the wheel. some how I was scrolling and my finger slipped off wheel and hit one of the buttons. after which my view was enlarged. I did not mind it to bad being an old man with old eyes. It happened again and made it larger than the first. I tried to dupilcate this to reduce and it got larger again. now I can only see about 1/2 the page cause the view is so large. as I type the only view of the page is the square subject area and the tools to adjust subject matter nothing else can be seen on the page. I do not know what size this will be when i hit post but at present i would say it is about font size 16 or 20. now i need a little help with small font but it does not need to be this big. does any one know how to adjust to a smaller size font or adjust the view of the page back down so I can view more than 1/2 page at a time many many thanks.
  9. I probably should not post because I will most likely dumb down the conversation. However this is very interesting to me and I see a couple verses that may shine some light here. The best way to go about a project is to first make a plan and the better the plan the better the project will turn out, Im sure everyone will agree God had a very good plan. v1 God created the heaven and earth. v2 darkness was upon the face of the (deep)waters. And God moved upon the face of the waters. Now when I read Exo 33:19-22;;;Exo 34:29-30;;;Ezk 1:26-28;;;Rev 1:16;;; Isa 60:19-22 these verse make it possible to see anywhere God is he radiates a light. So when God moved upon the face of the waters I can visualize the only light is him. His plan was to create and go back to his home not stay on earth and produce light for humans eyes to see by, he knew all his creation would need night and day to get by on earth so what does he do v3 he creates light that will be here for earth at least 6000 years. After the creation he went back to his home which can not be seen with mans inventions even if we put them into outer space they still can not see his abode.
  10. I do not know why you are asking me about incest. I asume this is a place to ask a Bible questions without being made out to be stupide which I feel you are doing by asking me such a thing. Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound that way. What I meant to say was - the more than one wife thing is not part of Jewish Law and everybody else in the OT did as they wished. They worshipped false gods anyway. So just like incest, it was not an issue. God eventually made rules against that. Until he did, it appears to be something that God overlooked. oak; in the beginning there was no other choice than to take a brother or sister; later it became normal to take a cousin and/or other relatives. I do not think God over looked this, he is the one that decided to create one woman and one man and the only way to procreate was what happened the way it happened. I dont think God looked at it as incest, he knew the only way to procreate was going to be within the family for some time. It might be he thought we were smart enough to learn in time not to marry relatives which we did finally learn, it probably took us longer to learn this than God expected.
  11. does this fit in here or is it for another time. 1 Corin 3: 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
  12. I agree not all have heard and rejected the Gospel. Your church sounds awesome, but I know it take awesome people like you and your son to make an awesome church.
  13. The Gospel is probably being heard and accepted outside the traditional Christian west than any other place. I keep hearing of reports of whole masses of peoples coming to Christ Jesus in foreign lands. The Muslim countries undoubtedly are the hardest to reach because the radical Muslims (especially Iran, Syria, etc.) continually drive Christian out or kill them. Africa and Indonesia appears to be the worst hotbeds of Muslims killing Christian converts. So I think it safe to say there are many in Asia and in Muslim countries that have no chance to hear The Gospel and believe. good thought most any muslim country would be the hardest. I do not use tv so I may miss a few things.
  14. it may be true what you say. I have no way to know. It does not seem possible to me inside our borders there is a town that has not heard. after thought, sorry I missed it the first time around. So Im thinking you heard about God before you were 16, but you didnt hear the true gospel til you were 16.
  15. it may be true what you say. I have no way to know. It does not seem possible to me inside our borders there is a town that has not heard.
  16. Matthew 24:9-14 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Because of technology we hear about Christians put to death more than I ever have in my lifetime. Let's see where we are at...majority of United States hates Jesus...evidence Obama elected...he stands for abortion and homosexuality...the liberals haven't put us to death yet....but they would like too... A lot of Christians are turning away from the Bible Jesus into a all accepting worldly Jesus because their children are gay...it is a lot easier to swallow..Joel Osteen types appearing and deceiving many people... Increase in wickedness in the last 50 years is unbelievable...homosexuals are glorified, whoremongers are glorified, liars thieves are glorified...prisoners are glorified....etc We are a country of lukewarm Christians slowly turning cold...eventually at the rate were going we will be the leader in the hate of Jesus and his cross...the word sin will probably be outlawed...it almost seems like it is now I do believe the gospel has been preached around the world....or very close to it...the Bible has been put into about every language... I think u can go to about every country and say Jesus and get some kind of response.. People in United States have no excuse...free bibles are distributed all the time.. If there are remote places or people in various countries that need to hear the word I believe Jesus can and will supernaturally preach the word...thru his spirit like dreams, visions, and angels however way he chooses as long as everyone in the world thru their freewill gets a chance to accept him or not... I tend to agree with all you say about the USA. I also tend to agree with you on remote areas of the world, however I think most may not agree with this position. Only because most think man is to spread the gospel and not the spirit of God. I wonder if there is any difference in the wording; the Bible say " to all nations " does that also me all persons.
  17. No. Some have not even heard because we (=the Church) have yet to learn their language, let alone translate the message into idioms which they could understand, and which would not compromise the gospel message. I have friends whose very vocation is to enter into such societies and steep themselves in their culture and language so as to provide translations of the Bible, as well as teach orally. It is extremely exciting. I don't get hyped up on end times stuff, but this gets me excited. clb that does sound interesting going to remote areas of the world and not just visiting as we mostly do today but learning the real culture and language. and so I tend to agree with you and ayin jade on the other countries. Would you say we have found all peoples or are there still hidden tribes we do not know of. ayin says there are tribe we know of ( Brazil ) but are at this time off limits to contact.
  18. ayin jade I think America has been covered in this area, now once they hear they may search out a softer message to appease them selves. I believe it is possible that Brazil is doing what you say thanks I did not know it was like that there. just my thoughts though I tried to find info before I posted this Q. I did not find any.
  19. Curious does anyone think the Gospel has reached all peoples on earth? I see some say everyone cant read so it has not. Im not sure if that counts; hearing the word of Jesus would seem to be as good as reading it and it might be better, reading it can leave questions but hearing would lead to those questions being answered. I would think it has been accomplished although I have no proof. Is there a place on earth or a people you think has not heard of Jesus?
  20. I noticed organic medicine posted a song; here is another one " Mercy came down" by Del Way. hear it on youtube I too miss the family ties and companionship. And it would be very long if I posted my abusive past. My family also is much like your description. We have grown apart over the years. Some moved some dont follow Jesus. You say satan even tells you its reason to end your life; Well according to your interest you know NOT to Believe satan. So I say put that out of the picture, Now. Also do not let your mind rest of the bad family developments, I too wonder why I was place into my particular family as I seem to not fit in. We must trust that at the right time we will know why we endure earthly heartache. I think we all have had close deep feeling for someone and realize their feelings are not held as close or as deep. God will see us through and then the pain will be gone.
  21. Also this was posted. "I personally feel he did away with all the old law and the 10 commandments." That was a mishap on my part. Instead of saying " everyone of the commandments are still listed in NT. I should have said he gave us our own new set of commandants. would have been more correct on my part. Some time this happens when one is typing. Sorry for the confusion. As for part of the new testament being under the Law I disagree. Jesus came to save the lost sheep (Israel under the old law) some believe Jesus was in the synagogue preaching and teaching the old law, I say no so. He was going into these synagogues to convince them to change to the new covenant and do away with the old law. They did not want to hear it and ran him out of many synagogue.(and tried to seize him) From his and the apostles first speaking they were convincing people ( many Jews ) to come under the new covenant the only one still under the old law were the ones ( Jews ) that did not accept the new teaching. He was not in the synagogues preaching the old law. The church was set up later but prior to set up they had convinced many to abandon the old law, this was the mission of Jesus and the apostles. he came to save the lost sheep, he could not do that under the old law. Acts 18: 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. Heb 4 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Heb 4 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief
  22. any one think 2nd Samuel 12: 8 is talking about more women, also.
  23. Why did God allow polygamy in the Old Testament? The Bible does not specifically say why God allowed polygamy. As we speculate about God’s silence, there are a few key factors to consider. First, while there are slightly more male babies than female babies, due to women having longer lifespans, there have always been more women in the world than men. Current statistics show that approximately 50.5 percent of the world population are women. Assuming the same percentages in ancient times, and multiplied by millions of people, there would be tens of thousands more women than men. Second, warfare in ancient times was especially brutal, with an incredibly high rate of fatality. This would have resulted in an even greater percentage of women to men. Third, due to patriarchal societies, it was nearly impossible for an unmarried woman to provide for herself. Women were often uneducated and untrained. Women relied on their fathers, brothers, and husbands for provision and protection. Unmarried women were often subjected to prostitution and slavery. The significant difference between the number of women and men would have left many, many women in an undesirable situation. So, it seems that God may have allowed polygamy to protect and provide for the women who could not find a husband otherwise. A man would take multiple wives and serve as the provider and protector of all of them. While definitely not ideal, living in a polygamist household was far better than the alternatives: prostitution, slavery, or starvation. In addition to the protection/provision factor, polygamy enabled a much faster expansion of humanity, fulfilling God’s command to “be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth” (Genesis 9:7). Men are capable of impregnating multiple women in the same time period, causing humanity to grow much faster than if each man was only producing one child each year. I copied this from Got Questions it seems reasonable to me,

  25. I have heard several stories from my elders on this and with what I read in the Bible. I would say yes they have free will in Heaven. I would also say when on a mission from God their free will can not override Gods will. As for commanding (I Corin 6:3) them we will not be able to do that until we reach heaven. As for angels having authority over us I say not so. I think angels are just messengers not the authority God is the authority. see Heb 1:13-14 and Heb 2:9. Also Matt 18:10 would make one think kids at least have guardian angels maybe adults. It might be kids have one until old enough to decide on their on. It might be when that age is reached if you choose not to follow God you loose the guardian and it might be if you choose to follow God you keep the guardian. Im sure you will see post from others with more knowledge than I.
