  1. Just keep in front of God, He will direct your path as He said. God loves you and is faithful in all His ways. Sounds like you have some good suggeestions here. God bless
  2. Very good writing tinky. It sounds like they need prayers to be stopped. I had never heard of them till your post. Thank you for raising awareness.
  3. I got distracted while typing the title. Like I said, I am having to use my phone. A better question would have been, do these places go against Biblical principles? And really I should have left thecheck cashing places off the list. I would rather be pulled buy a board moderator if it looks like it should be. I'm new here and this was not meant to be controversial. I already know my stand, I just thought it may make good dscussion. Please, if it should be Pulled, ask a mod to do so? You have my blessing certainly. God bless.
  4. Here in Alabama, there are a lot of pay day loan, check cashing, and title pawn type businesses. I know that the Bible says we are not to take advantage Of the poor. It also says we should not charge interest to the poor either. I do not have the verses to add here, as all I have is only my phone to get on here. I know I would not get a job at one of these places, but wanted to get some other input. What do you? Should a believer be employed by one of these types of businesses? Do you think they are exploiting the poor? I just think this is a good discussion as the popularity has grown to such a great presence in our towns. What are your thoughts?
  5. According to Fox news: 20 years ago today the first text message was sent! I have only been texting about 12 years myself. I know it has changed a little over the years, but It doesn't seem drastric. I'm sorry I don't have a link to the story, im sure someone could find one. Has anyone here been texting that close to twenty years?? Be sure to post if you have? Blessings Worshiper70
  6. The mods here are awesome! You all do a really great job of tending to things. I knew it was an oversight that would be fixed, awesome.
  7. Psalms 96:9 Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. I came across this verse this morning in my studies and wanted to share some of my thoughts on it. It is good to consider this text in our daily routine and we see here that just the way we live our lives is a very important part of our worship to our Lord Jesus Christ. It goes beyond just songs, and gathering with others for a time on Sunday. It encompasses all we are and all we do. It is our actions in everything we do. It is our relationship with Christ Jesus and others we come in contact with. It is our command to be Christ like. 1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy. Proverbs 21:3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. It is through our lives that others see what God has done in us. That brings Him glory, (which is due Him) and releases the seed to begin in their lives. We all lead. We lead with our words, our actions, and tolerances. We we establish a standard by which those around us can live. We do this by the acting upon God's Word. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. As we allow it to change and conform us into God's Holy image. Leviticus 22:31 So shall you heartily accept My commandments and conform your life and conduct to them. I am the Lord. Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. As we allow the Holy Spirit work in us. Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, As we allow the strongholds and walls to be torn down that we hide behind, and that try to separate us from Our Father. It is through these processes that others see the goodness of God. They see things like hope. They see imperfection and humanity as well. I think a lot of times the thought of surrendering to God can overwhelm non-believers. But if they have a solid pattern by which they see we are not called to perfection, but instead, holiness, then it may be more obtainable to them. The main point of my writing is this. It is when we submit to being holy as Christ is Holy. When we desire to please God and as we are a witness to the unbeliever. We also fulfill the great commission. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. It is through our obedience to be changed, to become more holy, then our lives bring God glory and therefor it is a true form of worship. Your thoughts?
  8. WOW! Thank you so much for that. Sometimes, I need to be reminded of the things I tells others to do. I really am grateful you posted this.
  9. Whew, thanks for sharing.! I feel so much better about things now, lol
  10. Thanks neb, I will take this to prayer, as with any reply. I know God has a plan, and i don't want to work my plan while waiting on His, I just want to do what I am supposed to be doing I suppose sums it up. Thanks again blessings
  11. Well, this has been on my mind for quite some time, and maybe this is a big enough body of believers to gain some real biblical answers? I know that God has called me to some things, but it often seems that is always something lacking. That something always calls itself "a helper" in my mind and spirit. For a little background, I am divorced and living alone. I have a great church, where I am fed great Word and worship my Lord. I knew at an early age, that God is all about relationship and always has been. We see that God created Eve for Adam. We see that Moses was given Arron. We the disciples were sent out in pairs. There are references about how two can stay warm better than one, and many other examples. Which now for the question: is it possible that I'm not getting very far in the things I am meant to do, because of not have a helper? Maybe even a mate? (here is the humbling part) or is it just an excuse not to do what I need to be doing? God has always given me great vision, but I have never been good at producing the end result. Obviously, there are the contents that make up the success of a vision. I just wonder if it is just not time for these things to come to pass yet? Is this a time of preparation only? I know there is no one that can say, "this is the answer" I am just looking for some godly input and maybe some advice as well. I hope my writings make enough sense to gain comments. Blessings to you for your reading and participation.
  12. It is good to testify of the Lord's goodness in our lives.! Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
  13. Jesus has been that one for me, more than once. Jesus will never forsake us, though He may be the only one. Jesus is the one who is enough. Thank you for turning what was meant for harm, and turning it into something to help others. Sometimes we need to see the weaknesses of others, to remember, we are not o alone at all. Blessings, first to the Lord, and to you also!
  14. Seems to me, that since the whole racism bit is kinda based on outward appearance, the argument should not exist in the first place. hmmm?
  15. Slipping into a state of being over whelmed by the need for solutions to serious problems I face right now. I came to this post. It to me begs the question, if I knew my prayers would never be answered, if my circumstances lead me to death without answer, will I still bless God? Will I love God enough to love Him without receiving. When there is no comfort, is He still enough? I am glad for this post, and very gratedful.
  16. I just saw the title and thought this looked like to much fun. My stand is this, read less, eat more!!!
  17. Being show business, it is hard to know what all is involved with staying or going. I think one thing, it is good that he is making at least some sort of stand. Many do not. I am sure I miss times constantly where I could make a stand for my beliefs and don't. He may be pasionate about the new things going on and just going on that for now. I see that it is very important no matter what, that if you feel convicted about a conlfict of beliefs, you act on it. I amire anyone who stands up and does not just sit in complacentcy. That is what got television where it is today. Complacentcy. The more of us theat follow this display and stand up for our God, the better chance we have of making a difference in this dark world. We are told to be both SALT, and LIGHT. We as Christians should be so bold! That is what I see. Blessings
  18. First of all, I want to say that I am sorry if someone called you an immature Christian for having sincere questions about God and the Bible. You are not the only one who has asked this question, about the God of the OT and the NT. The answer is that it is the same God. He is just dealing with mankind through a differen't covenant. The OT covenant was to continue till the cross. God is and always has been holy, and he has standards of right and wrong. When we violated those standards in the Old Covenant, someone had to die. To keep God from destroying mankind, as we all fall short of his glory, he set up a system of animal sacrifice, where a bull or goat would die in our place. Jesus death on the cross was for payment for our sins, meaning that when we mess up today, we confess our sins, trust in his finished work on the cross, and receive forgiveness. No more sacrificing bulls and goats. Has God changed in how he views sin? No. He still hates sin, but he deals with us differen't in this life. He will longsuffer with us longer today than in OT times, but the final judgment will still eventually come. Jesus was very clear about the horrors of hell. There are also examples of God's judgment coming on people in the NT. Ananias and Saphira come to mind, as well as Herod. These stories are in the Book of Acts. (See Acts 5:1-11 and Acts 12:20-23) The God of the OT is the same God in the NT, but he deals with us under a New Covenant. That is a great explanation and insight. Thank you for sharing.
  19. What a blessing. That is awesome!! Congratulations
